Highest Level Wrestlers

Madsen and Sara McMann are both Olympic silver medal winners currently in the UFC.

Bekzod Abdurakhmonov.

He has a 7-0 MMA record and is part of the Uzbek national wrestling team. Took 3rd at worlds twice, made it to the bronze medal match in Rio, 2 golds at the Asian Games, 2 golds at the Asian Championships, and has a big lopsided win over Jordan Burroughs. One of my good buddies wrestled at Clarion and was teammates with him so sometimes I get the scoop on what he's up to. Tokyo is going to be his last Olympic Games. He's 30 now so even if he does return to MMA it's not like he has a ton of time to make a big splash.

Who have been the highest level wrestlers to have an mma career, at each weight class and how did they do in mma?

DC- Olympic Silver medalists, HW & LHW champ
Romero- Olympic silver medalist, perennial MW #1 contender

Who else?
Hendo Pride WW & MW champion and the first true double champion.
Lindland Olympic Silver Medal, UFC MW title challenger.
Randy UFC 13 HW tournament champion, UFC HW champion 3 times. UFC LHW champion 2 times and once interim LHW champion.

Mark Madsen. Can't wait for his next fight, suplex city baybeeee

Randy Couture was an olympic wrestling alternative, Matt Hughesno, Jon Jonesno, Shalorus, Velazquezno, Hendo, Mark Coleman, Jon Fitchno, Phil Davis, Lesnar, Dan Severn, Hendricks, Weidmanno - a few here not already mentioned.

I dont think people really read or understood the thread

Who are the highest level wrestlers to have careers in mma at EACH weight class and how did they do

Example:
Henry Cejudo - Olympic Gold Medal
Flyweight and Bantamweight UFC Champ

He's probably the highest level wrestlers to actually win a UFC title

The highest level wrestlers in other divisions haven't won UFC belts have they?

Example: Matt Hughes is not even Olympic caliber at 170. Was he even ncaa top 10?

Askren: Olympian, Hodge Trophy winner, most pins in a single NCAA season

Coleman was 7th in the Olympics I think.
DC was 4th.

Still this is a very high level of wrestling.

Fujita nearly made the Japanese olympic team.

UFC needs to set up a performance center in Iran and Turkey. Lots of world-class wrestlers there and barely any go into MMA.

Yeah no. He lost most his Olympic matches. Still super high level to be in the Olympics in the first place though but in a conversation with Olympic and world's medallists he s small time.

That flakestyle stuff doesn't count.

CM Punk made more money in wrestling than Cejudo, DC, Madsen and Romero combined.
