I'm just having some fun with a guy who had some fun with the TS. If people's failings in spelling/grammar/punctuation genuinely raised my blood pressure then Sherdog would be the very last place I'd wish to spend time.

You've got it backwards: it's only the complete losers who can't acquire a command of proper grammar. Think of the people you knew in middle school with hopeless grammar: did they go on to accomplish great things?

Oh, is that right? People with dyslexia can have problems with grammar. Albert Einstein, Pierre Curie, Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell.... all had dyslexia. So I guess they're complete losers? Show me a list of all your comparable achievements to these "complete losers"... would love to see it. "Lula" Silva was the president of Brazil for 8 years and dropped out of school in grade 2.

Not to mention this is an international internet forum where English is a second, third, or even fourth language for many. Not to mention a large part of the forum is still in high school.

So you read some of Einstein's writing and came to the conclusion that his grammar is fine. You are aware that any published work goes through an editor first, right? I'm not sure if you're trying to seem unintelligent now or its just coming out naturally.

F.Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway were famous for bad spelling. Fitzgerald couldn't even spell Hemingway's name despite them being close friends. Yet, both are regarded as some of the best literay geniuses of their time.

The fact of the matter is, discussing topics on an internet forum requires people to be able to understand what you're saying, and if you don't type in the accepted format, confusion ensues. They created a set of rules to follow when writing, so that everyone can easily decipher what you are trying to say. If you refuse to use those rules, then no one will be able to understand the intent behind your words.

On a side note, people typically only ball bust grammar mistakes on an otherwise stupid topic or comment. If you make interesting and/or relevant threads and comments, people are generally less likely to jump on you for your mistakes.



Edit: after my reading my long rant, i realize i missed my point completely. I was going to say that i don't think most people intend to look for, and bitch about, grammar mistakes, they are merely trying to read someone's words and can't help but notice when they do it incorrectly.

If Einstein allowed an editor to clean up his prose, it sounds like he didn't share your disdain for proper grammar. Still, you've convinced me that people with poor orthography aren't losers, though not that people who are careful about their grammar are (which I believe was your original point).

i was a little bit afraid of being right about JBJ messing it up again, thats the kind of stuff u want to be wrong about, his rep is going downhill, and of course he is "sorry" again, i think nobody believes him now. JBJ should make the Anthony Jhonson journey at Bellator so he finally realizes he is just taking the opportunity to be in the UFC for granted.
