Thats how perfectly innocent people get shot. How about you wait until he attempts to do something illegal first?

I wonder if the open carry guy could have shot the other guy in self-defense? From the video, looks like the guy took him down and subdued him pretty quickly so the gun owner likely had no opportunity to reach for his weapon. But if there was more of a struggle which likely would have been the case if the gun owner was 20 years younger.

It's not very common actually. You have to go through the Department of Agriculture and wait 90 days.

It's a good possibly that Wal-Mart was not the only place he was going.

I know someone that was shot and robbed in a Cracker Barrel.

The purpose behind having a CCW is so you can have your gun on you and be prepared for any situation. It's not like people get CCWs with the intent of walking through crime ridden ghettos every day.
