if herb reffed the lesnar vs carwin fight we would have had a new champ.
its like he's too anxious and cant wait to stop the fight, his job should be to determine wheter or not a guy is unconscious or about to go unconscious

Oh please, if he had of let it go on what do you honestly think would have happened? Faber would have gotten punched for another 30 seconds. Faber was not even making a move, he just laid there; one hand on a leg, one on the back of his head. Was he defending himself? Maybe. But he was hardly trying to get out of a bad position.

If Faber had of gone limp like some of you apparently wanted, you'd all be calling out Herb Dean and saying he was jeopardising fighters safety.

Faber had already been knocked down twice, the second time landing flat on his face.

And really, the way people are reacting to the stoppage, Dana included, this leaves the possibility of Faber getting another title shot at some point a real possibility.

Herb Dean is the guy with most easly stoppages in the industry, remember , kimbo vs nelson ,amagov vs berry, tito vs ken, lawler vs kos just of the top of my head

Fights should be allowed to continue longer on title fights, let herb ref unimportant fights where the first guy to get hurt loses

Whatever the fuck it should be, his job is to protect fighters from unnecessary damage. Faber wasn't fighting back. End of story.

I initially thought it was an early stoppage, but after watching it again, Herb did ask Faber to do something, and Faber was doing nothing to get out of a bad spot. Although the punches didn't look like they were doing much damage, I think Faber should've done more, considering he got rocked 3 times beforehand.

Ken's body went fucking limp, and Kimbo was doing LITERALLY...NOTHING.

The rules don't say anything about consciousness being a factor in a stoppage. It's intelligently defending yourself, and Faber wasn't.

All the same, I just don't see why a fight should be stopped due to weak hammer fists landing on the gloves and arm.

If Faber was at least taking shots to the head or face it would have been different.

A lot of the fights you mention were good stopages. Kos-Lawler, Cain-Bigfoot 2, and Big Country-Kimbo were just fine. Herb is one of the better referees we have, it wouldn't make sense to ban him even if you thought the Faber stoppage was early
