Media Henry Cejudo rustled with UFC paying Jorge Masvidal, who's 'got 17 losses,' but not him

Still one of the worst negotiating misfires in history.
If he's man enough to subdue his ego he'd come back and show everyone he's still the best at either division. Then he can maybe get his money fights.
He was on a roll but then he overplayed his hand with that "retirement" and turns out *crickets*
Now he's back to square one almost

Cruz and tj weren't early stoppages but he did win lucky decision vs dj 2nd fight
DJ is one of the best to ever fight in mma. Just having a close fight with him shows Henry is on his level which was impressive.

The cold hard truth is that most normal sized adults are lightweight-welterweight sized. Realistically speaking, a 155-170 MMA fighter would KILL YOU in a street fight regardless of size for most parts. This is the appeal of the UFC. Its the idea that an average size human being can tear your life apart.

This was what UFC so badass in the 2000s. You know for a fact that fighters in that era could kill 99 percent of the population. Now we see smaller UFC fighters and non-male gender ( PC spirit yay) sparring against nobodies and they are having a hard time with the average bloke.

This kills the perception of UFC fighters being the biggest badass because there are so many weight classes and a non-male gender that is not as powerful as the males which has cheapend the UFC brand in terms of who is the baddest mofo out there.

One thing manlets will never understand is that they earn less than taller fighters, because they're manlets.

You can be the greatest manlet fighter in the world, but at the end of the day you're still a manlet.

Tell that to Floyd and Conor

I personally would watch 1 more Cejudo fight over 10 more Masvidal fights.

Hell i would be pleased if Masvidal retired tomorrow.

Damn good fighter, not being the one that has to sign the checks I definitely want to see him fight Yan, Max and Volk. I can't stand his cringe inducing gimmick but undoubtedly he is among the very best little men to ever step in the cage, quite possibly the very best.

Respect, but I think 2017 agrees with you. And that's not a good thing.

Cejudo's last several fights were terriffic. Dillashaw, Moraes, Cruz? Stopped all of them.

The Moraes fight showed his heart and ability to battle through adversity - while incredibly exciting. The Cruz fight showed he can be hyper-aggressive, build an early lead, and front run while maintaining the pace and forcing the action. And the Dillashaw fight showed me Henry is a legit bad ass and DGAF. The way to beat someone zombifying themselves to make weight is to take the fight to the later rounds, gas them, and win by ALLAH HAM DU LILL AH or whatever. Cejudo came out on fire landing strikes on all 3 levels and rocking a ranked P4P fighter from jump.

As I said, 2017 me would give you a like. But he's now clearly worth the money in my mind from the standpoint of exciting, high-level, fights. The problem is his outstanding work product just hasn't been a needle mover historically although I really think it's trending in the right direction.

In the end it's just an opinion and I am probably salty because he cost us MM and then as I said I wasn't impressed the Cruz and TJ stoppages. I didn't watch Moraes live so won't comment on that. Great win at the time. I just don't find CCC that great to watch. He is like a fun size version of Colby without the moments of comedy gold when he speaks.

I will point out I think TJ lost his last fight against Sandhagen. I also don't think he is a top guy anymore.

I want to watch him fight. He was a very exciting fighter. One of the best P4P in the world isn't fighting because the UFC are cheap. Their product is diluted and not nearly as exciting as it could be because of crap like this.

He won't fight. He will pull a GSP, one and done it for his legacy and then run off into the sunset. The issue is he doesn't draw the numbers he wants to get paid.

boring ass posts and takes from boring ass posters looking for easy likes.

cejudo isn’t wrong, he’s 10x the fighter masvidal has ever been and has 10x the accomplishments, should definitely get paid more than a clown like masvidal.

retards on sherdog really sitting here talking shit on a guy who’s arguably still the best FLW and BW in the world LOL.

Then he should prove it. He retired to go live his life and have a family. Now he shits on every other fighter who is racking up wins whilst he sits on the sideline talking crap. I don't respect that at all.

I don't think he is the best. I don't even think he beat DJ. His best win was a fight he lay and prayed to win, followed by the ghost of TJ at 125 via early stoppage and the same against Cruz. Joseph Benavidez took a decision off him, it's not questionable to think this current 125-135 crop of absolute monsters wouldn't do the same after he wasted his mma prime training Jon Jones?

For the most part I think their all underpaid, but way more people paid to see Jorge than him

he tried the bullshit retirement but didn't work out the same, now he's complaining about a guy who was making less than him when he became champ and he got dem monies becasue he was knocking people out since his move at WW. triple cringe should have kept fighting instead of forcing dana to negociate with his stupid retirement

He's Valentina's bitch!

Cejudo is the guy we need to help finally rid us of Volk stinking up the joint. Pay him Dana. Let’s get that belt away from point fighter Volk.
You seriously watched his fight against Ortega and thought he's playing it safe and point fighting? Just the right level of salt.

I mean he retired when he had his most leverage ever and gave it all up in one of arguably the stupidest attempts to garner a better contact so yeah I'll absolutely shit on the strategy, makes it worse when Ali's is his manager, a guy with history of getting contracts done with the UFC that his fighters by in large are pretty happy with. It was ridiculous, the fact he's still chirping over 2 years later whilst the UFC has moved on down the road entirely tells you how badly that play backfired.

As for the Masvidal point well Masvidal's a way way bigger draw than Cejudo, Cejudo has never been a draw, and left whilst his popularity was at it's highest, pretty simple really. Cejudo's a better fighter than Conor too arguably but if you ever really think Cejudo's going to get a Masvidal sized offer let alone a Conor one you're tripping on something you should share with the group.
Man he's changed his tune quickly from I'm coming back on the same contract but at 145 to I want more money or I'm not coming back at all. A few months ago there was a few threads about how he was coming back and was about to re-enter the USADA pool, those poor poster's got rustled good.
