Media Henry Cejudo rustled with UFC paying Jorge Masvidal, who's 'got 17 losses,' but not him

Henry was possibly at the beginning of a legendary run, able to reach a career apex greater than he had already achieved, and he looked right in the camera and said this was his last fight (against Cruz) and that he was done. He was retiring.

Dude walked away right as things were looking soooo good. Even better than they already had been, and he walks away. And now it's 2 years later and he pouts about how he can't get big money to get manhandled by Volkanovski. <45> He's worth less to the UFC now than he was 2 years go.

He’s an idiot and is making himself look like a total fool.

You never walk away unless your absolutely sure you won’t be begging Daddy Dana for a paycheck, it’s embarrassing and I see a couple sad KO losses in his future, he’s looking at the next 40-50 years and knows damn well he should have stayed and saved more cash. Now he doesn’t have the belt and will get brutalized for minimum pay, sad. The UFC are gonna be sure to give him the hardest matchup imaginable if he ever comes crawling back.

I totally understand where he's coming from, but... heart wants what the heart wants. I'd rather watch Mas - win or lose - step in there however many more times than Cejudo. Maybe Cejudo vs Volkanovski <- this could spike my interest, but not more turbo manlet action at FLW and BW.

He overplayed his hand, retired at the worst point possible and is struggling to realise that its a business and draws will make the most money (which he wasnt).
Even when he retired i thought the only division that would be affected by it would be Flyweight and he cant even make 125 anymore, Bantamweight is the most stacked division in the UFC and Featherweight isnt far behind, even Flyweights getting some juice back.

Had no idea how short Cejudo is. What is he, 5'3ft? Doesnt interest a lot of people seeing someone so small fight imo.

Heavyweights are bigger stars in boxing too.

Name one crossover boxing star of the same size as Cejudo. Can you just name one besides Prince Naseem? And do we count Floyd Mayweather as a manlet? We have Conor to even the scales.
Lots of boxers making HW boxing money in boxing. Minus the recent Fury fights a lot of boxers that mma community deems as manlets are making the big money and are huge stars in boxing. Crossover stars is rare in mma and in boxing. But boxing has stars that are considered manlets to mma community. You have Gervonta Davis, Loma, Haney, Ryan Garcia, Rolly Romero, Naoya Inoue, PAC, Floyd, Canelo before moving up in weight, Bud, Ennis, Errol Spence, Danny Garcia, Thurman, Spencer Porter, Ugas, Teofimo, Kambosos, Shakur Stevenson, Oscar Valdez, Josh Taylor, Nonito Donaire, Chavez, De La Hoya, Mosley, Cotto, Zab, etc - and Roberto Duran, Sugar Ray Leonard from the past.

The manlet thinking is from mma community only. Boxing doesn't have that problem. A lot of the focus is on the lighter weight divisions in boxing.

Why supply and demand is so hard to understand? Cejudo didn't sale like those other guys so he is earning less. Really simple. Unfortunately he's size is probably big part of it.

I have Zero interest in seeing Henry at 145 …..Yan fight would be extremely fun ….but bantamweight is incredibly stacked without Cejudo …so can’t see them open the bank for him when he isn’t a big draw …although Yan vs Cejudo is as high level as it can get

One thing manlets will never understand is that they earn less than taller fighters, because they're manlets.

You can be the greatest manlet fighter in the world, but at the end of the day you're still a manlet.
So Floyd and Conor don’t exist?

Featherweight can’t be that great …zombie is fighting for the belt

Floyd, Conor, Canelo, Masvidal and Tyson are barely 5’10 and have sold the most ppvs in combat sports LOL

That 17 loss fighter would send Cejudo into orbit

I like Henry, he’s funny, entertaining, and a great fighter. Here’s what he needs to do… come back and fight on his same contract but take an easier fight at 135 or 145. He’s got some ring rust and we need to see where he’s at now. He needs to fight and negotiate after.

Respect, but I think 2017 agrees with you. And that's not a good thing.

Cejudo's last several fights were terriffic. Dillashaw, Moraes, Cruz? Stopped all of them.

The Moraes fight showed his heart and ability to battle through adversity - while incredibly exciting. The Cruz fight showed he can be hyper-aggressive, build an early lead, and front run while maintaining the pace and forcing the action. And the Dillashaw fight showed me Henry is a legit bad ass and DGAF. The way to beat someone zombifying themselves to make weight is to take the fight to the later rounds, gas them, and win by ALLAH HAM DU LILL AH or whatever. Cejudo came out on fire landing strikes on all 3 levels and rocking a ranked P4P fighter from jump.

As I said, 2017 me would give you a like. But he's now clearly worth the money in my mind from the standpoint of exciting, high-level, fights. The problem is his outstanding work product just hasn't been a needle mover historically although I really think it's trending in the right direction.

No one really wants to watch him fight. He just isn't exciting and all his best wins are early stoppages or him losing to DJ.
On top of that he retired when thhe division was full of contenders. He isn't coming back so stop talking.
