Crime Headlining Crime Megathread Vol 4.

It's a clean shoot

But it's also one of those gray area ones where there might have been another way.

I shoot. I don't think for a second it isn't possible to blast out someone's thighs. And don't tell me about that arteries you probably have a better chance hit in the femoral than the heart and lungs.

Every situation is different and I wish the rules for the police took that into account. Also think the stick should be brought back as an option. Sometimes you need to fuck someone up real bad but not quite kill them and that tool seems to be missing.

you’re a total moron..

Justified. I would have emptied the entire clip into the perp just to be safe, though.

gray area? what do you mean. should he have risked disarming him with a baton or taser?

Yea kinda and maybe
I'm saying maybe being a cop should come with some risk

And you ignored me saying I think its fully possible to blast out someone's thighs in a situation like that but that isn't always option

Like I said that's a legal shooting. But I don't think he had to.

You wanted a poll but I think most things are way more complex than a simple yes or no answer

Listen dude. We can't have aggressive police legal guns and shit healthcare and no facilities to put crazy people in. At some point at least one of those things is going to have to give.

CNN Headline

"White Cop Shoots Black Man for Opening Car Door"
”White Cop Shoots Unarmed Black Man”

Experienced race baiters state the narrative first and if the facts are different later ... well ... don’t let that get in the way of the narrative.

Heres the deal, i would have shot him in his hairy leg but not with an ar-14 .... just a pump action shotgun

I think its fully possible to blast out someone's thighs in a situation like that
If you are saying it’s possible to shoot someone in the leg or arm ... then I agree it is possible. The issue is can that person still function after they get shot in the leg or arm and the answer is ... ABSOLUTELY.

The risk of being stabbed after shooting someone in the leg when they are running at you is really high. They used to show video and play audio of officer involved shootings at the academy.

You would not believe how many police officers have hesitated before responding with deadly force when it was totally justified. I could give you their names so you could ask them if they regret hesitating but they are all dead so they can’t answer that question.

Thanks for noticing..

I see you have a blackbelt in sarcasm as well .

But seriously nothing I'm doing is causing massive social unrest. You don't have to be a purple haired communist to see we have a bit of a societal problem. Depending on where ya live police can be pretty heavy handed and people have had it with that.

I think people have had it with shit mental Healthcare in our country too....its just that half the country is too stupid to see the obvious solution...cuz socialism

Cant fault the officer. When the dude was advancing like that, the officer didnt have a choice. Might have been different if there was another officer there, but in this situation it was justified. With a secondary officer they may have been able to have one with a taser, but if that hadnt worked shooting would have been justified.

I've seen those videos. I've also seen plenty of goons with knives get taken down not fatally too.

I think there need to be more options for use of force.

I'm not cop hating for the 15th time now that's a just shooting. I just think sometimes you do have a choice.

On these sort of shooting with a lone officer, i think you have to use deadly force. Shooting the leg is too risky, and using less lethal force is too risky. I think the problem here is the officer being alone.

Being a cop doesn't come with risk?

If a guy likely on PCP is sprinting at you with knives in his hands screaming, you know perfectly well you wouldn't gamble on a taser stopping him if it was your life, or that you'd hit the thigh of someone sprinting at you with baggy pants while you're moving too.

I don't disagree. I also don't think cops should ever be alone...one of many problems needing to be fixed. It's almost like funding and taxes is really the root of all these problems

Here’s an article talking about some of the scenarios where police officers are killed in the line of duty.

How Police Learn When to Shoot

For many officers, they represent a chilling reminder to never lose sight of the unpredictability they face on the street—and to resist any political pressure they might feel to forget their training in the face of danger.
