im not saying its strictly their fault but if youre in an area or situation where youre leaving yourself vulnerable to crime, perhaps you should lock your shit up. its just common sense and being vigilant
like hell i live in a city where its a catch and release system. we got tweakers here breaking into cars, stealing bikes from properties or businesses and especially from the backs of parked trucks and vehicles, setting up bicycle chop shops right beside the fucking library and all over the place where they swap out all the parts on their stolen bikes and spray paint them up. and you know the funny thing? the cops go over there but they never do anything about it because not ony did the owners of these expensive bikes make the conscious decision to not lock them up, but most of them dont seem to even bother writing down the serial numbers of their parts because barely any of them ever get reported stolen. every other day theyre rolling around on expensive bikes and e-bikes, all freshly painted with some shitty ass spray paint, and yet none of them even have a fucking job to be able to afford all of these belongings theyre just hanging out with at the same god damn spots all day every day, passing the glass dick around with all of their other thieving tweaker buddies. a week later you wont see them on that hot new bike of theirs or whatever, because by then they would have sold it for more drugs, and then soon after youll see them on some tiny little bmx bike that they can barely even fit on, just waiting to try to get a 20 bag for that or whatever. the next week theyll be on a fucking granny bike complete with a fucking horn or bell on the handlebars or whatever
thats not to even mention the bikes and cars that were locked, people steal those too. i guess they should have listened to momma. perhaps somebody needs to tell these guys that stealing is wrong, and that oughtta stop them!
the odd time a thief gets caught here, the judge just lets them back out anyways. i'm sure their momma told them that its not okay to steal. the police told them not to steal. the judges told them not to steal. theyve been in and out of jail all throughout their lives, and theyre still roaming the streets stealing peoples shit. by then do they give a shit about what anybody tells them? in an honest world this wouldnt happen. but you have to be vigilant and lock your shit up or youre just making it easier for these criminals to commit their crimes. . not everybody is honest and the laws or whatever their momma told them arent always going to deter them. thats why they invented car door locks, and they only take about half a second to apply. fucking use them. it will save you alot of money and grief.
every other week im seeing posts on my cities facebook page with a picture of their vehicle or a bike, or a laptop or some other valueable item to keep a look out for after it got stolen from them, or even last night someone posted a picture of some little metal doohickey that contained their mothers precious ashes in, which she hung in her car and took everywhere she goes. and some idiot came along and stolen that from her yesterday and she's hella pissed. and you know what? it sucks, but living in this city they should know better, and lock their doors, and this shit likely wouldnt have happened. theyve only been a member of the group for years, and have seen so many other countless posts about peoples shit gettiing stolen, so they should know better.
if theyre only running into a store or something for a couple minutes, thats not an excuse. if you leave your doors open, its only going to take a thief 2 seconds to get in. some of them even leave their keys in the unlocked car while they run inside to do drop some groceries off before heading back out again, and thats how long it takes for their shit to get stolen and then theyre on facebook an hour later throwing a tizzy and reporting the crime to facebook sometimes before theyve even filed a police report! i'm dead serious. they know all too well about the crime that goes on here, theyve only been members of a group for so long now where this same type of activity is posted ALL of the time, but i guess they must get the notion that bad shit happens to everybody else in the world, it just wont happen to them, so why should they bother locking their doors and dragging their keys around right?
in a perfect world, theft wouldnt happen and you wouldnt have to worry about it. maybe if you live in a rural little hick town where everybody knows each other you could get away with leaving your shit unlocked. but in most cities and areas with crime, youre a fucking lazy idiot if you leave your car unlocked. sure youre a victim, and sure the thief is to blame, but youre basically inviting them in. they create locks for a reason. more people should use them. especially around here. you cant leave even just a fucking nickel sitting in your car in plain view or some crackhead is gonna probably want to try to get in. if you leave your shit unlocked, youre just making it all too easy for them. and even then it doesnt always deter them and people get their windows smashed in anyways and a determined thief is probably gonna make off with your shit anyways, but at least by taking the second out of your life to press a button and lock your shit, youre making it harder for them.
