HBO - Chernobyl anyone?

About to watch episode 2 if it’s available. Really have been looking forward to it. Really interesting to see the discussion of accents and subtitles, etc. Us Soviets in Ukraine were just regular people, I really think this story can be told regardless if the accents are accurate or not, which, while the accents were terrible in the first episode, the story was well done, and they even did a good job of using proper translated Russian phrases, which occasionally makes for weird sounding English dialogue, but is also a proper translation of the phrases we used in the USSR at the time

I just watched episode 2. Holy fucking shit.

That sound. Horrifying.

This show is great. 9/10 episode. Great writing and directing.

It's very good.

Anyone here actually remember when it happened in real life?
I was born exactly one month after the incident and not very far from there. I suppose now you'll excuse me for the content of my posts. The brain got clobbered by radiation

Man, this show is incredible. It captures the emotion of fear very well. The ending was crazy, and just left you with a "well there's that " feeling. But, in a good way

Whomever composed the music for this show should earn an award for it. That low tuba provides so much dread. Best scene of the entire show was when that worker was forced to visually verify if the core was still intact from the tower. The black smoke just billowing out and the instant radiation burn. That was straight terrifying and so well directed.

I am a fan of this show. But I'm heartbroken for the millions of people that this disaster effected, and the impact it will have on future generations of people and the environment. Truly awful situation.

What's "ok incredible"? Is it incredible, with a bit of ok?

;)

The ending of episode 2 felt like a horror movie playing out. This show is really great.

I honestly have no idea how that ok got in there
<45>

Reading the quote theres no context for that ok to be in there.

The acting isvery good as well. Youre really able to emotionally connect to the show. Its been a while for me in terms of that. Maybe have to go back to Band of Brothers for me to enjoy a show this much.

Stellan Skarsgard did a great job.

His attitude change from stubborn asshole know it all not wanting to believe the truth, to crestfallen dude that accepts his/Pripyat's fate was really great acting.

Amazing acting on his part.
the decomposition of a mans soul on display. He was slowly broken.

In the end, in reality, despite the many deaths, stillbirths, and long term affects, I think one of the most amazing thing turns out to be humans and natures resiliency to that ridiculous radiation.

God the ending to episode 2 was chilling as all fuck.

This is what those dudes were near.

I'm watching episode 2 now, and if they keep up the quality this may be on the short list of the GOAT mini-series.

It could be up there with Band of Brothers.
