Hazmat targeted the teeth

I’d imagine it’s near impossible for that to happen to a healthy jaw, even if you did clamp down with all your might. Bones have a high compressive strength to weight ratio.

I’d imagine a world’s strongest man contender can do that to an average man, but against an equally sized opponent who is pushing up on the choking arm they are cancelling some of the force vector compressing their jaw.

I had a hole between my jaw due to an abscess that compromised its structural integrity. Given Whittaker’s injury it’s no surprise that happened.

EDIT: Reading up Whittaker had missing teeth and other dental issues. Missing teeth can compromise jaw strength because the lack of normal forces on the bone will cause the body to gradually demineralize it overtime, potentially leading to osteopenia and eventually osteoporosis.

It was a fluke jaw injury that Rob mentioned he's been dealing with since forever, he said this BEFORE the fight

Whittaker wins that fight 9/10 times and I think this was the general consensus before and after the fight once we found out it wasn't an actual submission but a freak injury rather

I guess Khamzat winning ends up being better for the division but Whittaker is the better fighter at the end of the day

Yea no coach ever taught me to target the teeth. I was typical BJJ lineage where we fish under the chin. Never learned good face crank technique. I’m pretty sure that’s something hazmat meant to do. Makes sense. Get a good position and crush the mouthpiece with everything you got. I won’t even call it “cheap” or “unsportsmanlike”, but damn it’s not something I’d do to my teammate.

Am I delusional in my cope? Or am I on to something? Any grapplers recognize this as as a technique? Or was it dumb luck that hazmat pushed Bobby’s teeth out?

I'm sure he meant to face crank, but the teeth actually giving out was just a pre-existing weakness Rob has had since his youth. I doubt very much that would have happened with most other guys in the same position.

Apart from the unlucky teeth break Rob was dominating that fight

The only way any version of Robert Whittaker would have a chance against Khamzat is a fluke. The only people who've had 1 second of success against Khamzat was a fluke.

You don’t believe he had and childhood tooth injury? How do you think his front teeth caved in???

I don’t really care. Just sounds weird imo. Dude is a former champion who gets punched in the face for a living, and he was doing it all with a “tooth injury”? You know that teeth and bones heal over time, right? I think hazmat just crushed his face.

I think solution to that is wearing a hazmat suit but unfortunately it's not allowed in the cage

Burns had a lot of flukes in one fight.

Whittaker fans are so delusional, this guy gets his ass kicked by DDP and khamzat and there's always an excuse, did he also have his period that week too? Did his hamster die too?

Rob had pre existing ptsd from watching fox and the hound as a child and it brought back memories when he got in there with khamzat. Fluke like this wouldn't happen again damnit!

Ive been doing jiu jitsu for around 20yrs and began being taught by wrestlers

Ive been cross-facing the face since Day-1 for RNC’s

1 of the reasons i believe Whittaker is because we've literally never seen this injury before and we've seen tons of face cranks. we've seen jaw dislocations but never a guy getting his teeth pushed in.

but that was a definitive win for Khamzat. it's not his fault Whittaker has a fucked teeth/jaw. well, i mean i guess NOW it is lol

Gene Lebell taught face cranks, jaw cranks, you name it.

Targeting the mouth, nose, eye socket, or just choking straight through the jawbone.

Your chin is not a defense to the RNC.

Luta livre guys knew about it the whole time too.
