when some fighters decline, they don’t fade away, it’s usually a sharp and dramatic drop off?

Chuck Liddell: won 7 straight before dropping 5 out of his last 6

Wanderlei: 27-3-1 (1 NC) before going 4-8

Dan Henderson: 3-7 to close out his career

Big Nog: 3-6 in his last 9

Tim Sylvia: was 23-2 then went 8-8

Lil Nog: 19-3 then went 3-5

Tito: went 15-4 then went 4-8-1 to close out his career

Rich franklin: went 24-3 before finishing his career 3-4

Fedor: 31-1 then 5-4

It’s seems that when some guys go, they go quickly.

I cherry picked a few guys but what do you guys make of the guys I found?

Are there any other examples? Any examples of late career resurgences?

Happens to eveyone, that's just life. Everyone has a downfall.

BJ 15-4-1 before he fought Frankie.

1-8-1 since...:(

Weidman isn't on a huge decline but he lost three in a row. But it's okay because he's STILL MAH BOI

It is not the fighter, it is the transitions that happen. (1) MMA moving from a ring to a cage (2) USADA banning IVs and/or (3) Major injuries.

Oh, there he is again. The world's most successful man, with his trademark big can of beer! Love that guy.
On any given day, he's between 3 feet and six feet tall and weighs up to 300 lbs.

Except for a few prodigies like GSP and Jon Jones, there's not much of a skill gap between top fighters. So when they're skills start to decline, it puts them well below where they were before. But since they are big names and were high level fighters, they still keep getting high level opponents. I really don't think it's anything more than that.

Thiago Silva was 13-0 before machida, now hes getting ko'd by cans
