Bloodyelbow did an interesting article on Rory MacDonald, questioning if he has peaked already, even though he is only 26 years old. He is now 9-4 in his UFC career, and just 3-3 in his past 6.

Bear in mind he started his career at 16 years old and signed with the UFC at 20. He fought Carlos Condit when he was 20 and fought Nate Diaz when he was 21. He has had a couple of wars with Lawler, a war with Condit, got his nose smashed up by Thompson. Wear and tear wise, he is probably the oldest 26 year old in MMA. Has Rory peaked already?

By far the best version of Hory we will ever see showed up at 189 and got KOd by Hobbie.

That was also the best version of Hobbie we might ever see. His boxing didnt look so good against Carlos after his long time boxing trainer retired post 189.

It's probably more like he's plateaued; normally that means that it's time to change camps.

No he just met Robbie Lawler.

He is only 26 and as any true sherdogger will tell you, it's all about age and not how much you've fought. Rory must suck since he lost.

Oh, and he should retire since he will Never be champion

Nah. He's still a kid. Needs to get surgery and have his nose straightened out, though. I bet he makes it to another title shot or two before he's through.

I'd like to see Rory take 2 or 3 years off and come back to claim the division, I heard around November/December time that things didn'tlook good with his nose.

It's hard to say, I just think him having two grueling battles with Lawler has really worn him down. Added to the fact that he lost those two fights, not feeling appreciated-money wise, and having fought this long.

He should also switch camps and change weight class.

Hes never claimed the division and never will. He just cant beat the championship level or top 3 fighters or come through in the clutch.

Hory is the WW version of Gustafsson and Chad.

Exactly this. He'll heal up and get remotivated. The funny thing is with 2 to 3 years he will barely be 30 and still has a lot of time in the game.

hes only 26....hell be back for sure...i agree he should take some time off and heal his face up tho

Hory is undefeated against The Brothas so there goes the Gustaffson comparison ya goof.

I kid I kid.

It's pointless to make predictions like this.

Go back to 2012 and ask people about Robbie Lawler

He did take time off, but what he really needs is a tune up fight to recover from. Maybe a stint in Bellator will do good for him, his development and his confidence.

Yes he has, maybe he should try Middleweight.

He might be out for a while if he need surgery on his nose...

That's a lot of time for a 26 year-old new father to go without his main source of income.

Hope you are right - I like the kid........I really felt for him after this latest fight with Thompson - I think he needs to get his nose fixed and see a fight psychologist.....he looked like he was emotionally and mentally crushed....changing camps might help too.....
