There was no way in hell Silva could compete from the bottom against Weidman, and once he felt that after getting taken down and beaten up, he no longer could even be effective on the feet whatsoever, couldn't land a meaningful strike due to overwhelming fear of the takedown. Yes he was an absolutely horrific matchup.
Ank is like Jan with better wrestling and Pereira has been ducking him in a similar fashion, and it's his toughest matchup in the division. Perhaps not as nightmarish as Weidman because Weidman back then was probably second only to Jones in overall ability.
