Has a champion ever defended on 2 week's notice?

Big HBK fan so I can't hate on the gif. If posting it helps alleviate your stress, that's cool.

Shit, Conor hasn't even defended with 2 years notice.

Completely agree. He has avoided defending the LW title since the Mayweather fight. While I don't agree with his reasons, I understand it. But don't you think expecting him to defend on 2 weeks notice is too much, given that no other champion in the history of the sport has been asked to do so.

Taking a fresh fight on two weeks notice to win a second belt is hardly the same as defending a current one on short notice. Max has a once in a lifetime chance here and stepped up. I doubt anyone puts their belt on the line on this short notice.

Since long before the Mayweather fight, he avoided defending since he got that belt maybe 8-9 months prior

Has a healthy champion who tweets stay ready ever watched other people fight for his title that he has held on to without attempting to defend?
Again not exactly relevant to this thread, but I understand why you are frustrated. See my last reply to Kevin Lee.
It is entirely relevant. There is a fight for the championship in a division where the champ refuses to fight. Making Excuses for why he shouldn’t fight is nonsense.

I get it bud. I'm not defending his decision to avoid defending the LW title for so long. Ideally he should already have been stripped, but since Dana/WME didn't have the balls to do that, he still is champion.

I'm just asking if it's fair to have him step in to defend on less than 2 week notice? Just asking if you think that's ok.

No - and I didn't mean to imply that is what he should do. More of a joke that he hasn't had 1 defense in the UFC.
