Don't forget Zoolander 2, and Anchorman 2.

I think you can do it with certain franchises, like Blade Runner, that actually has an established universe you could tell a million stories with. It's tough with comedy, though. Expecting the cast to be on their game and replicate whatever lighting in a bottle they caught with the original, is a pretty big ask. The chemistry usually just isn't there anymore, even if the effort is genuine.

I can't think of a worse example than "Dumb and Dumber Too". All the original talent, including the directors, and it's like they didn't even know their own product. They wrote Harry as a literal retard, and Jeff Daniels sure as fuck played one. Harry was dumb, but not an actual retard who didn't know what sex was. That was the worst of the worst of these desperate sequels.

Anchorman 2 was done within 10 years of the original, so it was adequately timed.

I don't think it'll be the worst film ever. I think it'll come and go.

..but I'm not going out of my way to watch this. Definitely not resubbing to Netflix for it... haven't been since like 2019-20.
