You didn't answer the fundamental question. Israel already tried a decadeslong military occupation of Gaza with horrific violations of civil liberties being routine.

It catastrophically failed. Why will a proven approach of failure work differently this time?

Hint: Neighboring countries don't want to take in Gaza because they have frequently also oppressed or screwed over said people and have their own internal legitimacy challenges or outright insurgencies to deal with.

The plan calls for about 3,400 housing units in the so-called E1 area, a stretch of land between East Jerusalem and the settlement of Maale Adumim.
