Crime Guy RNCed on NY subway dies. Trial begins 10/21

Idk if Neely really wanted to go to prison but I wouldn't be surprised, there he would presumably get a clean, quiet cell, food, clean clothes, medical care and so on.

Newly had been arrested 42 times in 8 years, 4 times for assault, and had an active warrant for...... assault.

So he was a violent offender who went on a subway and threatened to kill people.

{<diva}

We all should feel sorry for him.

Entering the fourth day of deliberations, and at this point it's a near certainty it will be a hung jury.

Got to keep in mind the jury, all 12 members, live and work in New York. Their friends, family, and (some) coworkers know they're jurors in the biggest criminal trial of 2024 in New York.

Very heavy social consequences may happen to them regardless of the verdict... guilty or not guilty... and since it obviously will have to be unanimous there will be no wiggle-room in the perceptions if they voted for the verdict.

Even if all 12 jurors wanted to vote not-guilty, which would be the most virtuous decision, chances are they don't want to risk the consequences of coming back with a not-guilty verdict.

We don't know the identities of the jurors, and thats obviously as it should be. But there's angry protests outside the courthouse chanting 'guilty.'
There's people within the courthouse with access to the jurors identities.
The jurors know if they reach the 'wrong' verdict, and give the 'wrong' side a cultural victory, their names with their addresses might *poof* be uploaded onto reddit anonymously.

But if it's declared a hung jury, none of the jurors are recorded as being in favor of a guilty or not guilty verdict. They return to their lives as they should have regardless of the verdict would have been.

Anyway, thats my theory.

Well we still don't have anyone other than the Subway Strangler saying Neely threatened to kill. Credit where credit's due though, I appreciate the improvement in accuracy of your posts, and you came close to providing that.

Idk if Neely really wanted to go to prison but I wouldn't be surprised, there he would presumably get a clean, quiet cell, food, clean clothes, medical care and so on. There's a certain amount of people who are homeless/mentally ill etc and deliberately commit crimes and get caught because they like being banged up; especially in winter.

If that was someone's intention, they would try to rob a bank or steal a car. This was a violent and aggressive man.

From what I hear they tend to do stuff like go into shops and start eating food in front of staff and just wait for the cops to come. Smash a window and sit there until the cops come etc.

There was Richard James Verone, who 'robbed' a bank of $1 and waited until the police came, so he'd get free healthcare in prison.

There's also a person in the UK who every time he gets out of prison, goes and stands in the middle of a road, stopping traffic, then remains silent all through the police/arrest/court etc. procedure. They think it's because he wants to be in prison but doesn't want to cause any harm.

I believe if you don't give your name and address when arrested you generally get sent to court and asked by a magistrate, and if you still don't you get a short prison sentence.

Neely was insane though so you wouldn't expect that level of rationality.

Neely is the type of person who couldn't even sack groceries at the local supermarket. He needed to be separated from society in one way or another.

It says so much that people on your side of the political isle are hoping a honorable marine who prevented anyone in a subway from being hurt by a violent criminal to get sent to prison for as much as 15 years, and are framing the violent addict threatening to kill people as the person worthy of everyone's sympathy.

The phrase 'respect is earned' is often repeated.
But even when respect isn't earned there isn't indifference toward people.
But indifference is absolutely earned after repeated examples of victimization of those physically weaker than themselves.

And Jordan Neely had repeated incidents of beating women.

"In 2021, Neely socked a 67-year-old woman as she exited the Bowery station in the East Village in Lower Manhattan.
The woman sustained a broken nose, a fractured orbital bone, and "bruising, swelling and substantial pain to the back of her head" in the Nov. 12 attack, according to a criminal complaint.
From January 2020 to August 2021, he was arrested for public lewdness after pulling down his pants and exposing himself to a female stranger, misdemeanor assault for hitting a woman in the face, and criminal contempt for violating a restraining order."

So... do I celebrate Jordan Neely's death?
No.
I am completely indifferent to him.
But I am very thankful he won't be assaulting any more women.

But when I hear a violent druggie threatened everyone on a subway, and he '...found out.' This is my reaction...

Imagine your wife or daughter being on that train. You would want someone like Penny riding that train with them.

Sadly for a lot of people, until it is their wife/daughter, they just don't care.

I've had plenty of lefties on here who live in crime ridden cities who just laugh it off because it's never affected to them.

City living robs people of their humanity.

Honestly 2-3 of those videos aren't even the NY subway. Twitter is not a good source of info.

The Asian man being beat was molesting teenagers on the train. You can turn up the volume. One of the guys beating him mentioned something about having a daughter. They are dispensing Daniel Penny type justice.

The drunk bald headed guy supposedly bullied the old lady so the black guy slapped him. If it's true then it's another case of Daniel Penny type justice. That isn't the NY subway either.

Reminds me of those videos on Instagram of five black guys stomping a white kid and it just says 'he said the n word' at the bottom as if it's the 1700s and little white guys are just marching up to groups of black guys and calling them the n word lmao

Don't worry... I love that it triggers them

And there's video after video of this...

Barely a blip on the radar.... Its just a giant city and stuff like this happens all the time like NoSmilez says... no one cares

One guy fights back and unintentionally kills the psycho. Race riot...

Make it make sense

Im sure an N bomb was said just before the videos started...

Yes, because hearing a triggering word is instant justification for violent rages.
Well, some folks cannot control themselves. This is known. Unfortunately, most use it so they can get that anger they always feel inside themselves, out. That is why I don't have conversations with people who use it. Doesn't matter the race. I disregard and ignore whatever they say.

Or they later claim they were called a triggering word to potray themselves as the victims, as if their actions were justified self-defense.

That happens all the time. Its true probably less than half the time though

I would always advise people not to say something unless they are prepared for the consequences. Good or bad. Just is what it is. Not giving a pass to violence, only be aware that there are violent people looking for a reason. Same goes to those wanting to get violent over words. There are also consequences for that. So, if you act up because of a word and get dealt a losing hand when you try to do some violence, that is on you too. People want to play around until the time to pay comes around.
