Gustafsson vs prime Machida

Yes it is. 1 top win. No one cares or takes what u say seriously. This is well documented.

Youre saying Gus could beat Hampage or Chuck, 2 of the top 5 LHWs ever which is just laughable. I said youre saying hes infallible outside of fighting Bones, Humble and DC. U think he would beat prime Shogun, Chuck and Hampage and prolly Wanderlei too. U obviously think he beats any LHW of the past era since there isnt any better than those guys which is absolutely comical. I know u never watched him in his prime but Jackson was a better fighter than Daniel is now and he would likely knock Gus out. Same with Chuck. Fucking Humble the guy who gets choked out by WWs and quits when the pressures up lmao. Cant wait till Glover beats him and specially with him and Gus losing more in the next few years to see ur tones. Its easy to hype a fighter before their decline, those 2 will be rich to see u watching.
Let's list Machida's amazing list of top wins: Evans, Bader, and Henderson after an injury layoff. You think Bader would beat Gus? Hendo? I can't wait to see this.

Holy fucking shit you're a terrible poster. You're so stuck in the past it makes me think you might be a legitimate head case.

It's honestly hilarious how you think Chuck was invincible and Rampage had the power to KO Gus. He was a savage in his prime but if he couldn't KO Chuck with all the shots he landed, I highly doubt he KO's Gus considering Gus has never even been put to sleep. He was finished by GnP against a guy that hits harder than prime Rampage.

I'm embarrassed for you. You look at Pride fighters are superheroes.

Now Machida dropped out of his prime because he lost? Holy fucking shit lmfao

So you are saying that nobody ever gets old??

And if Shogun dropped you and pounced on you with ground and pound while you are already knocked out...would your brain and body be the same a few months later when you have to fight another world class fighter?

Every single fighter's prime usually ends with a war or brutal knockout! I have watched entire careers unfold over a few different generations. You have obviously only watched for a few years if you think fighters stay the same forever.

Gus had a somewhat close fight with an over-the-hill Shogun. I think prime Machida has an edge but it is not an easy to predict fight.

He wasnt an unbeatable striker and i never once said he would knock out Gus or had fight ending power. Humble could beat Lyoto standing. Gus tho? LMAO give me a break kid

He also finishes Thiago standing and put a clinic on him, something Gus couldnt accomplish in multiple rounds. He outpointed Davis on the feet, Davis won win the TDs. He was also outpointing Bones on the feet before the knockdown and knees and he did statistically outpoint Hampage as well.

Yet the last sequence was him getting countered in range not rushing in.

Prime LHW Lyoto could def beat Humble if he doesnt get knocked out in the 1st. Hes a far more well rounded fighter and he could choke Humble on the ground after surviving and Humble gassing just like Daniel, Koscheck and Clementi did to him after taking his will to fight away.
Weidman could beat Machida on the feet but not Gus? More garbage.

Silva was never an elite fighter and Gus beat him with ease. If he was as good as you say, he would've won the fight considering most of the Davis fight was on the feet. Outpointing him till he got dropped lmao just stop.

Stop replacing the "R" with an "H" by the way. Fucking weird.

So in a previous post u say Shogun didnt beat Lyoto twice and now dont include him on Lyotos wins? Which is it kid? Stick to one agenda. Youre missing another couple top 10 wins as well. Bader could def beat Gus. Theyre on the same level, both crumpled Janitor and both got crumpled by Humble in a round.

I dont think Chuck and Hampage were invincible. Beating a good non-elite fighter like Gus doesnt make u invincible. And Humble doesnt hit harder than Hampage, who used to one punch finish dudes unlike Humble who needs multiple shots. He KOd guys like Wand, Arona, Randleman and Chuck with essentially one shot. He bodypunched Igor so hard it broke his ribs. Humble couldnt even knockout glass chinned Andrei. Almost all but a couple of Humbles knockouts are against welterweights, fact. The LHWs hes knocked out only Gus and Nog (past prime w/ shot chin) are impressive. Bader is glass jawed, as is Jimi whos a mediocre fighter.

I dont look at guys like prime Lyoto and Chuck as unbeatable. They would beat Gus tho and Chuck likely knock him out. They would lose to Bones and DC.

That fight would give us sleepy dragon where Machida has his eyes rolled back laying on the floor staring at the ground.

I addressed that in an earlier post to wilKO.

We're strictly discussing LHW considering Gus is a LHW. What? Gus is on the same level as Bader?

You are just running in circles kid.

I have a feeling Gus would win, too much power. He would be able to take Machida down and pound him out.

Gus is objectively on the same level as Bader when u look at resume. Sorry to burst ur imaginary bubble where Gus is an elite LHW. Difference is Bader actually has more than 1 top win. And yeah Bader loses to the elites. Guess what? So does Gus.

LMAO u thinking Gus is on Chuck/Hampage level is nothing but comedy. Gus is far closer to Bader until proven otherwise.

Do you even watch fights or just look at Wikipedia and event play by plays?

Both. Until Gus actually gets some top wins hes not an elite LHW. Sorry kid.

Elite LHWs:

Bones
DC
Humble
Glover depending on the Humble fight

You make no sense dude, you let 3 peoples opinions (judges) on fights effect your opinion on the said fighter instead of looking at how they performed. MMA is not a game where you can compare numbers.

Clear majority had Gus losing to Bones and DC. Close fights where he LOST, period. Those fights werent robberies or decisions where the majority had the other guy winning like Lyoto/Davis, Hendricks/GSP, Frankie/Benson 2 etc.

Gus lost to 2 superior fighters. Had good showings but LOST and NEITHER fight was a robbery.

If we want to include losses like this as a part of a persons resume to boost their rank might as well consider Mike Pierce an elite WW considering how he did against Fitch, Kos and Hendricks? And majority actually had Pierce beating Hendricks and Kos unlike the Gus/DC Bones fights.

Fact is he wont be remembered as an elite WW and neither will Gus unless he actually beats top guys/

No one has beaten Jones yet many people think Gus beat him
Gave Cormier his toughest fight next to Jones and almost finished him

Rumble is just fucking dangerous and would finish most LHW, current and from the past.

You don't watch fights.

Tldr

1 top win, good not elite LHW.

He dropped DC with a nice knee, didnt almost finish him. Follow up shots did next to nothing and he allowed DC to get up and didnt even capitalize. Thats the sign of a good but not elite fighter. And the ppl who think he beat Jon are mostly Bones haters or Gus fanboys.

Majority had Gustafsson winning against Jones. At least 65% of the people thought Gustafsson won. If there were other judges that night he might have been champ and you would have a totally different opinion of him now even though the same events would have happened during the fight, see how ridiculous that is?. A person's record is not all indicative of their skill and achievements.

Pierce is one of the most underrated fighters to ever compete, watching his fights you can see he's a very good Welterweight even if his record didn't show it. If he got the decisions against those guys it still wouldn't make him elite.
