Why in the world would anyone favor a guy that has fought nothing but cans over a guy with good wins on his record?

Because one guy is the better fighter?

This is the problem with casual MMA fans,
they put too much stock into records and wins, and ignore the talent and styles

Khamzat has not been given the opportunity to beat better opposition yet, the judgment that because he hasn't means he can't is irrational

You’re kinda proving my point. Khamzat could go on to be the greatest fighter to have ever lived, but right now he has beat absolutely no one to deserve that hype. There is zero reason to favor him over Holland at this point in time.
