So you tried to pivot “well ummm we just need to like spiritual transform every American and cure generational trauma bro” new age bullshit to deflect from the fact you misquoted me and got offended I pointed out that was a dumb approach to leading cause of death.

It is still against the law if you know to sell it to them. Also many states have background checks or permits for hand guns at gun shows.

I am not new age at all. In fact, I despise the new age so you really have no idea what you're talking about.

I'd be glad to have an intelligent conversation with you if you can stop being a angry and negative.

Why not start by answering the question I asked which you didn't read repeatedly, which is what policies do you support for gun control? Since I also support a ton of them, that would give us a chance to have a meeting of the minds where we agree, which would be much more interesting to me and then we could discuss our differences from that place.

NYC requires permission and a paid permit through the NYPD just to own a gun (ANY gun) in your home. I don't understand how that's constitutional.
Oregon voters passed a ballot initiative in 2022 that would've required the same thing from the Oregon State Police but fortunately it's dead now.

It is unconstitutional and has recently been proven so a long with a ton of other NYS guns laws. Additionally, you had to bribe the individuals working for the NYPD between $15-20k in order to get approved if you weren't famous/rich.

I’m not anti-individual gun ownership. At least, I don’t consider myself to be that way. While the love of guns never grabbed me, my dad had a small gun collection and was an avid hunter in his youth and sport shooter in his old age. I have a lot of good memories going out shooting with him. My uncle is the same way. Their dad, my grandfather, used to make guns.

I have strong opinions on what the 2A is and does. In my view, the 2A doesn’t exist to ensure that you can carry a firearm randomly when you walk down the street, it doesn’t exist so that you can shoot a burglar when he crawls in your window, or what have you. That’s not its purpose.

It's original purpose might be outdated but God bless the 2nd Amendment that allows us to defend ourselves while police protection is unavailable. Until I have a full time cop protecting me and my property it's unreasonable for people to want to curtail that right. In my state I already have to jump through hoops and pay hundreds of dollars for the privilege of what's a Constitutional right.

I wish US gun rights were as pro-liberty as a lot of foreigners tend to think they are. Okay, the level of individual liberty relative to the rest of the world is beyond Earth's atmosphere, and people believe we are completely batshit insane (nice). But it has not been without a series of heavy-handed, top-down federal government regulations passed by US Congress throughout the years, including:

* National Firearms Act of 1934
* Gun Control Act of 1968
* Firearms Owners Protection Act of 1986

And yes, it is more than enough. Fuck the ATF.

Yes especially since I don't live there anymore and yes if I did. Virginia had instant background when I lived there. North Carolina has change their laws to make it easier to buy guns now. I don't gave any problem buying one anytime I want because I have I concealed carry permit so I just show that and I get it.
