Law Gun and Gun Control News/Discussion

This. In the USA they will start with mandatory courses of wich prices will jack up every year to price people out the expensive licences renewable every year and can be revoked for any reasons. Finally 10 days wait will stretch to longer times as years go by. Don’t let citidiots get their foot in the door because once conditions are in they will get more and more stringent.

they even tried to ban single shot bolt action rifels as being 'assault style weapons' and it only was stopped when our indians freaked out b/c they use th esks a lot for big game in the north.

thankfully the only people totalitarian PM black face actually listens to are our natives

Yeah I catched that move of his… he went greedy as fuck as usual but got the pushback again from people not ready to back down. He’s a front runner. He folded like pizza box in front of them. He lost against the trucker too, he was toppled by them until he gave Singh a bj to hold onto power. I’m legit thinking he’s gonna win an other election.

the study found increases in the death rate persisted in communities with increasing levels of social vulnerability, no matter how strong a state’s gun laws were.

“What is clear from our work is that regardless of the strength of the gun laws in an area, the youth gun-related death rate is notably higher in the most socially vulnerable communities – meaning more kids are dying of gun-related violence in the most disadvantaged communities,” says lead study author Dr. Deepika Nehra, an assistant professor of surgery at UW Medicine’s Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

People made good money to verify that poor people are more prone to violence. They really went out on a limb there huh. Risky assertion.

Ironically the money that went into that study could probably lift a small family out of poverty. Good stuff.

Sure, or bring to light this is a fact and effect change accordingly to mitigate future instances of 11x homicide rates.

This probably deserves it's own thread . . .

Study: Gun Laws Alone Won’t Stop Firearm Deaths
An analysis of gun deaths among youth indicates laws can tamp down fatalities but won’t get to the root of the problem.

New research shows the death rate among young people from gun violence rose with the increasing level of social vulnerability within the communities where the incidents occurred, regardless of whether a state’s gun laws were more permissive or restrictive.

The analysis, published Wednesday in JAMA Network Open, examined approximately 5,800 gun violence deaths that occurred from January 2020 through June 2022 among youth 10 to 19 years old alongside a community’s classification in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Social Vulnerability Index. The index, which can be used to show where more help may be needed following an emergency or disaster, reflects demographic and social factors within a community such as poverty, unemployment, crowded housing and vehicle access, as well as minority status.

Difficult but effective solutions such as?

Here are two laws that would drastically reduce gun crime while protecting your 2nd amendments rights:

1) Ban handguns for most citizens... you don't need a handgun to defend your home or your freedom, in fact they are crap weapons for such purposes. Allow people to turn in their handguns for credit towards a long-gun.
2) Raise age to buy a gun, and ammo to 25... science has shown that the human brain (especially the male brain) isn't fully developed to 25

Handguns are the only weapon suitable for concealed carry and self-defense outside the home or while traveling in a vehicle, on a bicycle, jogging, walking outside, etc., sorry boss. You don't need to ban the handguns, you need to ban the people that use them for criminal activity and stop letting them out of prison. Or, rehabilitate them and use the CJ system to give them opportunity for success outside of prison so when they get out it isn't easier to start slinging and banging than getting a burger flipping job for 1/5th the money.

Makes his point in under 9 minutes.

Obama should lead by example and make sure that the secret service agents who protect him 24/7 only use 10 round mags and don't have any sort of semi auto rifles. :)

Obama.... 'leading by example'... ????

<Dany07>

These gun-grabbers actually have no problem with guns... that protect them.

Its the guns private citizens have, that would provide resistance if not rebellion against their agenda, is what they really fear.

*School shooting with dozens of dead kids.*
Leftist politicians - "Oh goodie, its another opportunity to parrot gun control slogans and completely ignore the main reasons why these happen. Its not my kids or anyone I know getting killed."

ATF Report Reveals Mass Noncompliance With Pistol Brace Rule

According to a report published by The Reload, as of June 1, 2023, ATF received 255,162 applications for registration. The Congressional Research Service estimates that the number of braces in circulation is anywhere from 10 million to 40 million. This would mean total compliance with the pistol brace rule is around 0.2 – 0.6 percent
