Fitch had won 15 straight fights heading into this bout 8 of those were in the UFC, he also won 5 straight UFC fights after this loss... This is more of a reflection of the greatness of GSP rather than Fitch.
He does it all right. Gets his hips and legs back, stuffs the head.GSP's sprawl is the smoothest thing since baby butts were invented.
Nah, the only guys GSP had the guts to risk something in the stand up was guys like Fitch and Hughes, they were beyond bad at striking.
There is no shortage of boring fighters that is for sure, but i personally despise when someone has all the tools to make things happen and just don't... Woodley is boring... GSP was boring and a lot of their oponentes were boring too, wich didn't help a lot... But It's their fault they are boring and i'm sure that nobody fell in love for mma because of the boring performances those two and some others were super sucessful in delivering at us with unmatcheable consistency.I kind of understand what you're saying although your english is terrible.
GSP did get boring at some point but saying he never took risks is a lie. He didn't win the title by not taking risks. Just watch his earlier fights, he's had a ton of entertaining fights.
He did start to get boring after a couple title defenses but it's not always easy to be entertaining when fighting the best guys in the world in a super stacked division.
Most guys who go for flashy moves or take big risks will be entertaining but usually won't have longevity and will eventually start losing.
Just look at the current WW champ. His fight against Wonderboy was super close and boring. He was also extremely boring against Maia.
GSP at least completely outclassed most of his opponents.
Some of those shots look d like they could have ko’ed hunt and Fitch ate them all.The thing I remember most after this fight was how big a deal they made it out to be that GSP could not finish Fitch. It made Fitch superhuman at the time because GSP finished nearly everyone back then. GSP's record at the time was 16-2-0 with 12 finishes.
It's already been 10 years since UFC 87. I rewatched that fight last night and I have to say, it's probably GSP's most entertaining and dominant fight.
I didn't realize how much of a beating Fitch took but damn. Dude is a warrior. Thought it would be worth making some gifs.

Props to Fitch for being such a warrior. GSP nearly gassed himself at some point from teeing off on his head. I tried to find some Fitch highlights but there wasn't really any. Some good exchanges but it was mostly all GSP in this fight.
People claim it was the Serra loss that turned GsP into a safe conservative fighter but I disagree, its this fight here that made him change, he came close to blowing his wad early and it scared him. It's already been 10 years since UFC 87. I rewatched that fight last night and I have to say, it's probably GSP's most entertaining and dominant fight.

There was a second shooterSo was it ever established what is flying out of Fitche's mouth in this gif? It wasn't his mouth-guard nor does it's shape really looked like a tooth.
Fitch was, at that time, the consensus second best WW in the World.
That's fucked up. GSP was/is a monster.
