This is a tough one for me because GSP is my fav fighter. Alot of what you say is true.

Tech GSP has better striking but I also think Khabib striking is criminally underrated by his opponent fans. Yes GSP has better kicks with out a doubt but if they fought how much would GSP kick? It seems like a good way to get taken down so it would have to be used sparingly. Look what happened to Justin.

Boxing Khabib gives a slight edge to GSP but bit by as much as us GSP fans would like to think if we look at it critically and honestly. Khabib also has just as much power as GSP boxing I think.

GSP takedowns are more explosive but Khabib still lands at the same or higher percentage. He also has just as good take down defense or better than GSP. This is pretty much even but who gets the other down first. I think Khabin is better at keeping his opponent down once tney get there. It would be very difficult for either to be on bottom.
GSP is bigger and has more experience but he has sat out fot too long. If they fight I bet on GSP but it is an emotional bet not clear headed. Khabib is an animal like very very few others. Only other fighters in their absolute prime compare and Khabib right now is in more prime than GSP.

All that said I hope they fight more than anything else.right now. As a fan of both and big MMA it would amazing.

His kicks were very nice. One of the best kickboxers at 170 during his era. Very, very good defense as well.

And you're 100% right his defense was very good.

His boxing was certainly overrated though and his movement was very stiff in general.

If they fought now GSP is a solid 7-8 years removed from his prime. It would be an incredible achievement if he beat Khabib, especially at 155, where GSP never competed before- but definitely not a lock by any stretch of the imagination.

GSP is way better at mixing all points of his strikes to get the where he wants t. Good jab, strong low and high kicks and underrated boxing (Freddie & Boxers from Wildcard can attest to that.)

Khabib has better defense though and always has his guard up.

He wasn’t in his prime back then. The tibeau equivalent is the Hendricks fight. And Hendricks could ko people as well. And GSP still had a very very close fight against him while khabib hugged Gleison for 3 rounds. Difference is Hendricks would not only stuff the takedowns but knock him out as well.

Khabib is underrated as a striker, but GSP is much better on the feet, and I don't think it's close.

They are 1 and 2 best MMA wrestler ever, but used different style: GSP had the best Double Leg takedown in the History of the sport, while Khabib bullied his opponent to the cage, and then take them down to beat them there. Wash.

Didn't Georgie porgie prove that he was by competing and winning a paper title at 185? If you fight above your weight class you can't point fingers at other fighters and say they are weight bullies. If Georges didn't lay in wait for 4 years until a one eyed 40 year old cyclops won the title to grab it then this would.have been a fair statement. The fact is that gsp cherry picked his way to a title shot against the British Sammy Davis Jr who was on his way out.

Khabib has a better shut down top game. That's it....georges is better in all other facets and never soundly lost for 15 minutes to a bum like tibau. GSP would have looked ten times more dominant if he fought Dan Hardy type fighters for a good portion of his career like Khabib
