I could go 24 hours probably, maybe a little longer with practice. But 5 full days? That's crazy impressive. Maybe he's shedding some mass in preparation for a return to a lower weight class?

he's too muscular to fast like that. You need to conserve energy when doing extended fasts, it's not really simple.

Especially athletes.

You know there used to be a highly regarded and extremely strict survivalist program out in the Midwest, where you have to forage for food.

Supposedly the first people that drop out (even before the overweight or out of shape clients), were athletes and they specifically mentioned triathletes.

Apparently, their caloric requirement and metabolism were too high for them to be able to meet the nutritional requirements that nature was able to provide.

5 Days is pretty good for a first shot at it. That first meal afterwards would have either been completely glorious, or nauseating. Some times found if I starved myself for too long it actually was kind of difficult to force food down at first.

I failed it in a day so at least he did better than me. I am sure I can do it but damn I love food too much right now and I am not discipline right now.

A 5 day fast is a hell of a long time. I doubt most people in here have even tried 24 hours. Most I made it was 48 and I found I felt essentially drunk and couldn't think clearly so I stopped.
