**GSP confirms contract negotiations with UFC**

Yet they are paying fighters $1,000. These guys sound way worse then anything the UFC is doing. They wont even talk to Reem and they wont even bid on sterling. They can have all the money in the world they clearly have no intentions of spending it on MMA.
Their not fight fans. They're business man to the core.Cant say I agree but dude they got hella cash

Viacom has Bellator on a budget. They have several other things they would rather drop money on then Viacom Bellator
Exactly but it doesn't mean they can't afford Gsp or any fighter they want. Those dudes are legit ballers

lol like that's even a possibility. Bellator couldn't even afford to talk with Reem because his starting point for negotiations was already to high. Now you have someone like GSP who is worth even more. Bellator can't even afford to talk to GSP let a lone pay him to fight.
viacom has deep pockets is they wanted to sign him

they could put on ppv events with GSP staring
Georges could take less $$ from them and still make more with his
other endorsements

not saying GSP would make more moving but I am saying he has leverage and he is a big enough name that he 'could' change the landscape of mma if he so chose

I don't really see him doing this as likely what he wants is a big payday
fighting the likes of CMac

You realize Viacom owns Bellator

Yes Viacom money puts Zuffa to shame. But they give Bellator a budget, with which Bellator has to show it's successful with.

Viacom doesn't just throw cash at Bellator when they ask. They have tons of other non-MMA assets to handle as well. Zuffa seems likes it primarily in the fight business, so I would say they're the ones more loose with their cash.

Overall fighter pay is still low because competitors like Bellator are sticking to a budget and aren't driving the value of lower tiered fighters up.

It's weird because given how much time has passed you tend to forget how large a brand GSP was, during his fights you'd see people with the bandanas or little kids wearing GSP gi's.

He is one of the guys who the Reebok deal is specifically bad for given he is one of the very few fighters i can think of who sold merchandise specific to him (Not counting Reebok kits with the fighters name on them) except for maybe Hardy selling Bandito masks.

I love that Nick smiled and took a pic with that kid. Even as a GSP fan he will remember that moment for the rest of his life.

You don't think Viacom would buy the UFC for 6 billion

The is no value on low tier fighters. Most of you posting in this forum wouldn't watch them fight for free let alone pay for it.

Moral of the story if Dana wants him he's going to pay for him

Viacom COULD afford to pay GSP, Ronda and Conor IF they wanted to let Bellator spend. They won't though.

GSP probably made over a million a fight in sponsor money and he's supposed to be okay with reebok giving him 15 grand or whatever they pay.

Hope he doesnt come back. Just because as it is his legacy is superb and its unlikely he can really improve on it.

how did the fans get screwed?

is teh lack of douchy graphic tees driving you nuts?

here:

edhardy.com

that should help.

So you're ok with a top guy like Bendo going over to Bellator instead of fighting guys at his level in the UFC?

How do the fans benefit when top level guys are spread out over different orgs? I get how it benefits the fighters but what do the fans get out of it?

Did Gsp fight out his last contract?

I don't think you can' retire with the belt and fight for another organization per Randys contract. People have asked GSP about this very question in the past and he said he can't talk about it.

first time I want reebok to succeed.

I think GSP wants to fight CMac
would like to see him
put his balls on the line
against Lawler:D
