I've been saying for nearly a year that if he came back it would mean them agreeing to allow him to wear Underarmor and/or pay him a LOT more from Reebok.

Don't hold your breath guys. I think he went public to help his cause in the negotiating room. GSP was babied back in the day because they needed him (didn't have to sign the same merchandising contract as every other fighter) but now they have Connor and Ronda.

Well the UFC either has to honor their contract with George or buy him out...
In fact it might be exactly what George is hoping for = Freedom from the UFC.

If a fighter consistently draws a big enough live attendance and sells big enough PPV buys, they should be exempt from Reebok crap that the commoners must adhere to.

Yeah, it could be something like this. If his contract doesn't jive with the Reebok agreement, they'll have to let him out of it. If they won't let GSP do GSP, they might watch him finish his career in Bellator or wherever Askren happens to be fighting by the time it gets done.

I wish he would go to Bellator. Just to cause massive chaos among the MMA world lol
