I agree that a lot of the personal attacks, insults and the Nazi comparisons are ridiculous and needlessly vicious (though the Veruca Salt jab is funny), but there is nothing wrong with reasonable criticism and putting a special needs kid on the world stage to parrot talking points while hailing her as a Climate Change messiah is certainly worth criticizing.

Why is young kid so anxious about the future of the planet? Someone is obviously pumping something in her head that is feeding her anxiety.

She has Aspergers and is fixated on climate change. Kids with Aspergers will often fixate on something. My accountant's son has Aspergers and is fixated on Soccer. His dad hates soccer, his mom doesn't care about sports. Nobody pushed soccer on him yet it is all he will talk about. It's how it goes.

I am in SC right now and fully half the radio stations are religious and I am atheist yet I don't consider that they are slamming religion down my throat because I can simply change the channel.

Anxiety, rage and leftist talking points about climate change does not result from a fixation on something even if someone is on the autism spectrum. I have a feeling we will be learning more about what is happening with Greta behind the scenes as time moves on. I remember when Malala was initially being paraded around as some third world girl who just wanted an education and then it turned out that her father was part of the UN and had a lot of political connections and Malala's shooting likely had more to do with her father's politics than her promoting girl's education.

At what age, specifically, does someones opinion get to have merit?

The reality is that just because a teenager say something doesn't make it false. Teenagers can and do rally behind great causes from civil rights to feeding the homeless. If a teenager wants to preach about being anti-abortion or not polluting the local river I'm not going to dismiss their claims just because they are teenagers.
