She has Aspergers. Such kids often pick something to be hyper focused on. It is what makes them happy. Would you encourage a parents of Aspergers kids to prevent them from playing an instrument, doing art or learning history? Is the issue that she chose political activism?

Imagine if all parents decided to stop kids from doing the thing they most enjoy, whether it be sports or arts or learning or camping or anything else. It would be a crappy time to be a kid.

Kids should be able to do what they enjoy. I suspect 99.99999999999% of kids wouldn’t chose politics as a hobby unless influenced or indoctrinated by their parents. That’s all.

Stop subsidizing oil companies. Subsidize energy renewable companies, for one.
Kill coal, put it out of its misery.
Tax carbon emissions for industries. Use the money generated to fund renewable energy R&D and infrastructure reform.
Add an additional fee to registering gas powered cars. Further incentivize electric or hydrogen purchased vehicles with a 5 to 10% mail-in-rebate program.
Stop subsidizing corn farmers who produce cattle feed, thereby increasing cost of red meat and lowering consumption of the product.

That,s just a start.

So transfer wealth from team A to team B. I mean everyone knows that's what this is all actually about. If the world is going to end in 12 years then fuck corporate hand outs. Shut it all down, let the commoners eat each other and start fresh in a decade or two.

Petroleum should only ever be used for synthetic products, especially in medicine. More needs to be done to integrate non-petroleum sources of energy into energy production, and in energy storage solutions. I agree humans will more than likely never end their dependency on oil 100%, but the need to scale that dependence downward is dire.

I think we are heading there with electric + battery technology being embraced by major car companies, cell phone companies, etc. A ton of research and money is being invested into such technology because of how useful it is. Not just for the environment, but advancing tech in general (usually for $$$ and staying ahead of the competition to survive but that is a big incentive that always drives innovation)

So I can certainly see eventually this will have a big impact on ground transportation. Probably not air transportation though, which is a huge polluter.
