I was listening to the radio the other day and they were talking about Greta and touched on her having aspergers. People were phoning in talking about their personal experiences with aspergers and one thing I found interesting is that people with aspergers will be totally focused and driven when it comes to a subject they feel strongly about. In the case with Greta she's totally focused and driven when it comes to climate change and nothing wiill stop her.

She's a child who is deeply anxious about her future and feels betrayed by the adults elected to ensure a livable world for her generation to inherit. She is also courageous and eloquent in ways that is rare for girls of her age. Especially with her Asperger's.

You guys should feel embarrassed at yourselves for concocting these ulterior motives and conspiracy theories to her JUSTIFIABLE protests against the DNB's that are the world's "leadership".

Nothing about her being genuine in her feelings or not has anything to do with what I said.

Children are stupid. Passionate, but stupid. Adults are not here to indulge every stupid, backwards fantasy or thought a child has. But to raise and nurture successful, well-adjusted individuals.

Ask mass migration happening in many parts of the world were their way of life in farming has been effected. You never hear these stories in mass media because they don't have a wealthy country to reroute waterways an make corrected actions. Look at areas that have become completely lifeless due to rising temperatures an poor response by their country.

Greta is 15, one year away from the legal age to drive in the united states. She's nearly old enough to get married in the UK with parental consent. She could join the territorial army at age 16. At 16 she could work a full time job, etc etc.

There's no such thing as Asperger's anymore, it's just high functioning autism. I can't fucking stand when people call it a superpower, stereotypes it like Rainman or the Good Doctor. Not everyone on the spectrum has a "special interest" either, a lot of high functioning people tend to bounce from one interest to another and fully investing while they're in it.

There's plenty of dumb lazy folks with high functioning autism with nothing to contribute to society, I'm proof of that.

If you want to be really cute you can point to climate change as part of the problem with the rise of extremism in the Middle East.

Widespread droughts have been a major cause of unrest in the region and Africa. Syria in particular has been particularly impacted. It had been cited as a major factor in setting off the Arab Spring as well.

Eh I don't know anything about her but reading that is making me cringe. I am not a climate change denier at all, I'm very much a tree hugger, but her argument is stupid.

Saying she was told to dream big and how we had it all, but that was stolen from her. The real damage was already done long before she was born, when she was told to dream big, that was when efforts were being made to clean things up. Like I have no issue with fighting for change, but have a better argument.

Not sure were ISIS falls into this as far as that's concerned. I am talking about places like India, Africa countries and even parts of Russia has not escaped. Rex Tillerson famously said while he was the head of EXXON MOBIL people will have to adjust and move. This while oil companies seek billions to build massive levies to protect their Texas refineries from climate change related weather issues.

No doubt. When I dog on autism I'm just being self deprecating. It really is a hindrance for people far more than it is a benefit, not remotely close to being a super power. A lot of people on the spectrum have a hard time just holding a job.

I read a poll that the only group that does not care about climate change is old conservatives. Most old Conservatives are too busy trying to blow dudes in airport bathrooms, to be concerned with climate change.
Sad watching, people attack her. Attack her ideas but the right no longer does that. They attack the messenger because nobody is buying their ideas anymore.
They used to be about family values and balanced budgets. Now they fight to defend a serial adulterer who runs trillion dollar deficits.
