Rumored Gregor Gillespie teasing return at Madison Square Garden in November

Talented guy but he just didn't fight enough. I think he'd rather fish. Nothing wrong with that.

His inactivity and age are certainly both factors, but I think another issue is whether he takes another long layoff after this fight. Given his history of not staying active, why should the UFC book him against a ranked opponent when, chances are, he will just disappear again if he wins?

I’m honestly surprised he hasn’t been cut. He’s an exciting fighter and (other than the KO loss to Lee) is undefeated, but I just don’t see the point in booking a guy to fight once every couple of years.

He is going to show up to remind us he exists and then its back to fishing.

I would love to see Gregor return vs. anyone, but in particular #10 Grant Dawson, #8 Arman Tsarukyan or #7 Mateusz Gamrot would all be very competitive wrestler vs. wrestler matchups.

If Gregor actually signs a bout agreement there should definitely be room to slide him back into the LW rankings because #9 Rafael dos Anjos is a welterweight now, and #11 Jalin Turner and #14 Damir Ismagulov have both lost 2 in a row. That would give these top opponents an incentive to face Gregor.

Yes grant dawson

Can other people see them or nah? There might some issue with the viewing permissions but I'm not super adept at using media uploads on sherdog.
I can see them today.

A fight with Dawson, Arman or Gamrot would be amazing agreed. There's several viable, appealing options on the table there for the UFC.

People throwing out Dawson, Arman, and Gamrot like that makes any sense. The grappling would be interesting, but matchups are totally undeserved. Gregor should be lucky to get Moicano. Frevola seems to be within his means right now

At this point I really don't care. Book something an then maybe.

Gillespie vs TJ Grant main-event, Arona vs Goran Reljic co-main.

36 coming off a 2 year lay off? Im supposed to get excited for a guy whos second to last performance was getting flatlined by THE fighter Kevin Lee? Ill hold my breathe lol.

This is kinda it for me. I'm down to watch him fight, but it's not like he's some hot prospect anymore. He wasted his best fighting years sitting on the sideline.

I think he's still got some good fights in him if he wants because he doesn't have a ton of milage, but he's not going to be in title contention.

HMO give him Jalin Turner. That gives Turner 4 months turnaround. he's probably at the bottom of the top 15 after Saturday's card and it could give one of them a much needed boost.

Side note: the people mentioned in the original stories are Vinny Uzi, a strength & conditioning coach, and Carlos Rosado, the owner of a BJJ school in Long Island so they were probably helping Gregor train.

Teasing a fishing trip or something, dude probably ain't fighting again

They're honestly too highly ranked. He should get Madsen or Vinc Pichel or someone around this status

Guy knee capped his own careers momentum with all the sittting out.
