Greatest of All Time update

I voted Fedor but tbh its a tough choice and the answer is pretty subjective. You can easily make an argument for Anderson , Jones, and gsp as well. However as a huge gsp fan I have to say the lack of finishes does hurt him imo. The point of a fight is to finish the opponent, and the only reason they even have decisions is supposed to be in case you just can't because the guys too tough, not because you don't really try to.

Silvas prime was in the UFC. Fedor crushed a lot of cans. The difference is enormous.

So is the difference between the votes Fedor is getting in this poll and everyone else's votes.

Don't be mad. He's the best.

Oh god CuePee, your arguments are so old and rehashed. It's embarrassing how much you still try.

If it is your position that Pride's HW and LHW divisions were not the top two divisions in all of MMA during Fedors prime run, tell me which org and divisions were considered better?

How about some supported facts from you rather then the usual crying and lashing out whenever someone points out something that does not agree with either Anderson being god or his division being the best of the best.

how did hendo make it on the list lol. bc he beat fedor?

or bc of those questionable decisions that went his way.

I wouldn't put Hendo in there. The others are all possible.
Barao and Aldo are close, and should be discussed.

I wish there was someone from 155 to represent, as I think it's the toughest, deepest division, ever since they started it, so tough that it is virtually impossible for one man to rule it.

I'm so happy to see fedor has 56% of the vote. 56% of sherdog is right at the same time. Crazy

Hendo probably has the most difficult schedule in MMA, alongside Randleman and Nogueira. I don't mind Hendo so much as at least he's pretty high up on the GOAT list, even if he's clearly below Fedor/Andereson/GSP. It's Jones being on the list that has me confused. It's only been 2 years people.

Y'all already know who fits that bill. It's all about THE FIREBALL KID baby!

Right now it's a toss up between Fedor and Silva. If Silva loses to Weidman again, then Fedor would be my #1. If Silva loses, and if GSP retires undefeated while finishing at least ONE more fight, he will be #1.

I can't believe Jon Jones is even on that list. Big Nog, Hendo, and Hughes are ahead of him IMO. Those guys have more wins against top competition. Jones will probably surpass those guys and might become THE greatest but I think its too early atm to compare him to the likes of Hendo, Nog, Fedor, Silva, and GSP.

I did hendo, just because we all know, the greatest..lol but hendo multi division champ, beats everyone and fought top level competition in ever organization for past 10 years

Fedor gets my vote.

Chubby, undersized HW destroying the competition = amazing.

Anderson Silva will always be GOAT. once Fedor fought top comp he lost... then he went on to beat lower comp... yeah... A.Sila Fo Life

Big Nog wasn't "top comp" when Fedor beat him for the Pride HW title?
Really?
Who would you have ranked above Big Nog at the time?

Fedor will always be considered the GOAT, imo. Look at someone like Muhammad Ali, he fought waaayyy back in the day but is still generally considered the GOAT in boxing, regardless of how many stellar boxers came after him. The same will be of Fedor. It wasn't just his long winning streak but it also has to do with the mystique and aura that surrounded him. He was truly like no other fighter and the vibe you got when that man was gonna fight was truly something special. He's a fighter's fighter.

Fedor and Jones are both above Anderson IMO.

I still have not seen a great arguement as to why Silva should be ranked above Jones.

Jones has nearly the same number of title defense, fought much tougher opponents, and is much more well rounded and skilled than Silva.

I'm still wondering who Anderson Silva fans consider top comp when they say shit like that.

Andersons best win BY FAR is Hendo. Sorry but A lot of people have that win...

Franklin and Hendo.. great wins but after that it drops like 3 letter grades in quality fighters.

I gotta go with the guy who was the most feared man in the world for more than a decade.

I always go back to this:

"The best when it comes to the staredown is Fedor Emelianenko. Watch him: he does not make eye contact and his entire expression is extremely relaxed - you would think he is about to perform a ballet or something.

"But here is the crucial thing. When the referee tells them to head back to their corners, Fedor suddenly darts a short look directly at his opponent - or through his opponent, I should say.

"This kind of look is associated with antisocial behavioural disorders and psychopaths. They don't look at you, they look through you. It's emotionless, it goes deeper than skin level.

"You will get a lot of fighters who will catch that look and suddenly realise they don't want to be there.

"Wanderlei Silva has a stare-down that makes you think 'this is gonna hurt', but Fedor's makes you think 'shit, I might die'."

Psychologist: Emelianenko's staredown like a psychopath's - MMA News

Most feared man on the planet for a long, long, long time.

Silva could have been a number 2 if his competition had been on par with the others.
