Cody Mckenzie is the goat
lol I've seen almost all of Fedors fights, yes he is one of the best but is most certainly not the best
I loved Fedor's style and humbleness but you people need to watch the Arona fight.
Jon Jones is probably the goat.
Oh I see. Like FlyThai, who famously "watched Pride on YouTube" and got all caught up on the history of the sport. Why am I talking to a chicken nugget, anyway?
So what you're saying is because I didn't get to see most of Fedors fights live, that means I don't know anything about him?
No, but if you say you lose faith in sherdog becouse he is considred to be the goat that means you know nothing about his career. You can have a different opinion, but if you say stupid shit like that you can expect people to laugh at you.
Okay I'll admit it was a bit harsh to say that, I understand that people think Fedor is GOAT and thats fine but I just really don't think he is.
Thats much better![]()
You say it as if 'Pride' somehow brainwashed me? I was watching the UFC long before I watched Pride. I don't think it had anything to do with it, it could have been a fighter from any organisation. I'm a fan of fighters.
And he wasn't perfect, certainly not, he had quite a few flaws, but AT THE TIME, he really had the aura of being the most undefeatable, but the WAY he fought (like I said, fighting different guys at their strengths and still beating them, post Nog and Cro Cop especially)
I think the standup was closer with Cro Cop than many admit, (and yep he got rocked a little, not like Fujita, but still) but he hung in there and certainly gave as good as he got in the standup and easily won the portion of the fight that was standing.
Also not saying that guys like Cain (now) would be beaten by Fedor either. Cain I think is better than any fighter Fedor has a win against, BUT I still think Fedor in his prime, that would be an amazing hypothetical fight. And guys like Cain and JDS wouldn't be the fighters they are now without a guy like Fedor setting the benchmark of the modern heavyweight to emulate. They likely started out training watching and learning from him.
HW GOAT? outright GOAT? its all subjective and can only ever be opinion but for me at least, Fedor is the best I've seen, and I've been watching this game avidly for the past 15+ years.
Dismissing my opinion as if I was just 'brainwashed by Pride' is pretty simplistic and to be honest, insults my intelligence.
With your own opinion, I could equally try push the 'brand allegiance' angle and say stuff like 'Zuffa hype has really done a number on you', but I'm mature enough to not need to resort to that level of rubbish. I reckon I at least deserve the benefit of the doubt, as I as have afforded you.
1. GSP
2. A. Silva
3. Fedor
This is the correct order if you take opinion out of the equation and just stick to facts.
