If GSP can fight like Silva at his age then I'll be very impressed.

Until his last fight i thought Jon was on his way to a similar kind of unbeatable aura. And after Silva beat Okami, the way he beat him, i thought he was close to it too. But so far no one else has quite reached that height in MMA.

That's the thing about Fedor. Before his losses he did have some close calls that theoretically could have ended differently. But those near losses never really hurt his aura. I guess it's because his close calls he came back and won with finishes or the fight was left undetermined.

But Fujita, Randleman and even the 2nd Nog Fight (Best Nog I've ever seen) could have ended differently. The fact that they were competitive at all even in retrospect doesn't hurt his aura to fans. Just interesting how a competitive split decision win can take away someone's aura but the same rule doesn't apply elsewhere.

Fedor is GOAT imo.

For the record, its not even about who Fedor beat. It was more his style, his sambo and incredible striking. Killer instinct.. submissions off his back. He had it all, and was extremely dangerous at any moment during the fight.

The biggest difference is Fedor, compared to GSP.. he could finish anyone in the world in the first round. And usually did. Compared to Anderson, Fedor was strong enough to avoid being thrown around or beat in any department. Even if he got takedown, he always reversed the situation, where as Anderson has lost fights on the ground in the past, and lost rounds in the UFC being completely controlled. I know he did poorly in the later of his career, he got fat and didn't have the right fighting mindset anymore.

Fedor for sure but Anderson is a close second. I wouldn't even debate if somebody put ANderson ahead of Fedor. The thing that is amazing about Anderson is that he went on this ridiculous streak of demolishing people in TITLE fights. its not like he was this great fighter winning fights, he was beating guys in 5 round title fights with ease. he is amazing and as for Fedor its not just about WHO he beat in his time but its HOW he beat them. Real mma fans are Fedor fans. Anybody who chooses gsp over fedor just doesn't get what its all about imo.

Anderson is GOAT, Fedor is close though. A lot of people probably don't realize that although he was fighting subpar competition he DEMOLISHED and finished everyone in Pride but Nog and Mirko, who were also far ahead of everyone else.
