Greatest boxer ever?

Don't get me wrong; I'd be hard-pressed to rank Robinson lower than #2 or #3 pound for pound. If Ali had been a middleweight, he might not have been as impressive, he might not have been as fast - we don't know. But I do know that he wouldn't've ducked Charley Burley and all those great black fighters.

Floyd Mayweather seems like a real legit modern day contender for GOAT. 12 years undefeated, 6 belts in 5 weight classes. Of course it's still 'too soon' to really consider him, but if he doesn't try to make a late comeback and screw it all up it will be hard to argue against him in a few years...

Too late, Hes been trying to sign against Pacman, Finally history's least threatened, least tested boxer will have his day!

Pacman, by either UD, or KO depending on if PBF tries to stay and fight, if Floyd tries to enguage early I'd say Pacman by KO in 6 or 8.

Sam Langford?
Henry Armstrong?

A few years ago CBC was taking viewer submissions for a possible series on famous canadians. I sent an e-mail asking them to do a piece on Sam Langford but they turned me down.

.

Please.

Castillo x2
Corrales
Hatton
Oscar

Not to mention quality like-
Chavez
Mitchell
Hernandez
Manfredy
Judah

and names like-

Gatti
Baldomir

Floyds fought great fighters, solid contenders and big names.

Just because you can think of one or two fighters who became popular while he was fighting Oscar doesn't mean you can say hes never fought anyone.

All I heard was blah blah blah.

Hatton Oscar, Chavez and, Gatti were on their way out anyway

Baldomir and Corrales are not that great, and Judah? That makes him great? that he can beat a guy whos as wishy washy as a maytag elite? ...No
Floyd is a great boxer, but not the greatest of all time, and IF he fights Pacman, it will be the first time I've seen him fight a great fighter WHILE they were on a hot streak.

So Floyd fighting MAnny means something when Mannys biggest win is a guy who was on his way out when Floyd fought him? OK.

What makes Marquez so great besides his loss and draw to Manny?

Manny is fighting HAtton next, another guy "on his way out" who Floyd KOd months ago.

Sugar Ray Robinson, Muhammad Ali, Larry Holmes (best jab in Boxing history), Aaron Pryor (the most underrated and dodged fighter in boxing history), Marvin Hagler, Bernard Hopkins, Alexis Arguello, and the list goes on and on.

Are you talking about Oscar? Does anyone really think that was Pacman's biggest win?

BArrera and Morales were "on their way out."

Floyd is "on his way out".

I bet Hatton took the fight cause PBF ducked this one too.

DAMN!!! Duckin fights from beyond the vail?!!! (of retirement)

IMO

What are you saying Guru?

Are you saying Hatton took the fight with floyd because PBF was on the way out? He's not on the way out meaning his skills were deteriarating like Morales and MAB.

have to go with sugar ray robinson, the whole concept of p4p rankings came about because of him, plus he fought like 40 pro bouts untill he lost, and crushed both lamotta and basilio in rematchs

Wrong. Robinson LOST the rematch with LaMotta, and while the concept of great "pound-for-pound" fighters has existed since the 19th century and before, "pound-for-pound" rankings were a product of the 1980s, when fighters like Sugar Ray Leonard, Tommy Hearns and Roberto Duran were outdrawing even World Heavyweight Champion Larry Holmes.

RELAX guy, I was just talkin shit. I dont think Hatton was that good at the time that he faught PBF, hes been on s decline, ask any brit.

But no, PBF isnt on his way out. I just think he needs to take some more risks. Why not take the pacman fight?

For me it would be Ray Robinson. Talent and resume equates to a Rare feat.

I was completley relaxed.

And it looks like PBF is going to take a fight with pac if he gets by hatton.

What a load.

Just for one recent example- Oscar/Floyd

Floyds been considered the P4P best for quite some time now. No one could make up their minds about that fight until after when suddenly everyone knew oscar was shot.

Floyd has fought as many big or great names as manny has and didn't lose to a guy names 3k battery.
