Thats a different sort of power IMHO. Snappy punches versus clubbing.

IMO, Tysons precison power punching is too much.

Tyson was better than Shavers. Quicker than Foreman.

Ali was the best boxer who was easy to hit.

I've always thought Tyson was a bad fight for Ali.

This is the most on point comment I've ever heard about the Ali vs. Tyson arguement.

I tip my hat to you sir.

Seano, you've never seen Ali before the exile?!?! And you call yourself a boxing fan?!?!

Cassius Clay > Muhammad Ali

Different person IMO.

Clay was an athlete. Ali was a celebrity.

Fedor died in a plane crash and nobody knows where his money is?

No and he didn't retire undefeated either. Plus Rocky was around before Fedor I think.Rocky Marciano isn't the Fedor of anything.

Tyson wins this one stylisticaly

I think technically, Ali was a way better boxer, but his style just wouldnt match up well against Tyson.

Your kidding yourself if you think that Ali, or ANYONE for that matter, could just take a Mike Tyson punch and still stick to their game plan, kidding yourself bad.

RJJ as the best boxer ever are you fucking kidding me..............

Peak for peak, I don't think a middleweight or super middleweight in all of boxing history could beat Roy. Career wise, maybe, but not if both were at their 100% best.

Fedor > Rocky because he's lucky enough to have good opponents. Marciano peaked at a bad time, Fedor at a good time. That's luck, with nothing to do with how good either are.

Youre right James quick tillis did it for ten rounds no way young muhammad ali would do it(sarcasm). Watch young Ali. That Ali was hard as hell to hit, he had the legs and stamina for 15 rounds and his speed was unreal. This isn't the rope a doping ali. From the Sonny Liston fight to the cleveland williams fight, that ali would have beat tyson handily, as well as many other reincarnations of Ali.

I'm not a tyson basher, I agree he is severly underatted in his prime. But he would always have trouble with tall tough boxers, especially the best one there ever was.

The Ali that fought the best fighters and fought the biggest fights was easy to hit. Maybe the skill of guys like Foreman Ali and Holmes compared to guys like Doug Jones had more to do with how impressive early ali looked?

Thats true, but you definatley can tell there is a speed difference between the two Ali's. Also i'd put liston into foreman and fraziers category of skill level.

But,If you just look at his body its doesn't have the lean explosive look he had before. I mean it was three and half years, you can't take that off in any sport let alone boxing and expect to be the same. I dont know, i just can't see mike doing enough to beat Ali, I think you had to kill him to beat him and mike would wilt under much less.

I think Cassius gives Tyson a better fight than Ali.

I guess thats the debate. What was Alis prime? When he was dominating second stringers and guys at the late stages of their careers? Or when he fought the best fighters like Foreman and Frazier?

IMO the Ali that fought Foreman, Norton and Frazier- he gets KOed by Tyson and early IMO.

BUT, which Tyson. The "Old Tyson" or the "After jail one".

Well.. I pick the Ali tht beat the most impressive fighters and had the bigger fights, which IMO, made him his best, so I'd say the pre douglas tyson. The guy who seemed to be faultless and KOed everyone. IMO, thats when Tyson was his best.

Because he weighed a bit more. :icon_chee The Ali fans claim he was robbed of a peak, but in fact his lost speed was offset by more size, so it's not the massive loss it's made out to be.

James Tillis, I think it was, went the distance (in 10 rounds) versus Iron Mike. You dont think Ali could last 12 rounds?

I honestly believe Ali dances circles around Iron Mike. Mike hurts him with some shots but I think Ali takes it and gives him some back. Tyson wasnt as dominating and scary when you werent scared of him.
