Greatest boxer ever?

Yep, Floyd is in that small club of long time champs with no losses.

Marciano, Lopez, Mayweather, Calzaghe. There's probably more.

For all intents and purposes Monzon belongs on that list. Lost a few times within two years as a pro then never lost for the next almost 15 years. Think he avenged those earlier defeats too. To me that's as close to being undefeated without being undefeated.

Good Point about Monzong. Thats just as impressive as going undefeated by ducking all the guys you think will give you problems, any day if you ask me!

Shit! Even an old past his prime RJJ even stepped up against Calzaghe, wheres "pretty boy" at now?

All were either not great, or out of their prime. Hatton was not even half the fighter he used to be. I heard from Bisping himself, a huge Hatton fan, that he thought Hatton was going to lose because he wasn't the same fighter he used to be. From a british guy, about his british boxing idol. So yeah, I still say he never fought anyone. Corrales was as on-again off-again as it gets, as a fan of his, this pissed me off on many occasions. Just saying names doesn't prove anything. Do you really give Marciano credit for his win over an old ass brown bomber? Marciano WAS great, but Louis wasn't one of the wins that puts him there. Louis was way past his prime. Fighting has-beens doesn't make you great. Maybe Fedor should take on Royce too huh? Maybe you should watch the fights your reading about on Fight Finder and BoxRec.

Hatton was past his prime when he fought Mayweather? Come on...

Mayweather is obviously not one the short list of greatest fighters ever, but you're way too far in the other direction.

If Mayweather is not a candidate then no one from the last 25 years is a candidate.
He is head and shoulders above the rest of this era.

YES!!!! HATTON WAS NOT THE SAME FIGHTER!!! ASK ANY BRITISH FAN!!! Or, watch his fights in order, you can find a collection online for like 50 bucks, put them in and watch back to back every fight! He was gettin old like 4 fights before he fought Mayweather and anyone who studies his tapes can see this.

Hatton isn't as good at 147 as 140. That doesn't mean he is/was past his prime.

But he was slowing down even at 140, and the cut was getting harder, thats part of why he moved up.

any british fan will tell you this b/c they are so god damn blinded by the love for their fighter that he could never do anything wrong( hatton hasnt had his prime yet if he ever will) hatton was never and will never be on floyds level....i totally agree that if you dont put floyd in the talk for the best than noone in recent history besides roy and pernell are there either.

Duran had to take poo poo

Ha Ha....That was the rumor floating around.....The other rumor going around was that he actually did poo poo and needed to get back to the dressing room pronto. Who knows if it's true ?

Duran did alot of partying after the 1st Leonard fight and then took his sweet ass time getting into shape for the 2nd bout. He starved himself to make weight....and then after the weigh in on the day of the fight ,he supposedly gorged himself with steaks and ice cream. A dumb move......

Floyd Prettyboy Mayweather was the most elusive boxer in history BY FAR!! No one has EVER been able to get out of the way of though fights like he did!!

PERIOD!

Willie D from the Geto Boys was the best boxer ever.
He beat Melle Mel and Tim Dog refused to fight him. Now that's power.

1- Floyd Mayweather jr.
2- James Toney
3- Chris Byrd
4- Rocky Balboa
5- James "The Grim Reaper" Roper

Game Over!
