That would never normally work.. Gane's base was absolutely terrible..like first class whitebelt bad..

I'm not even sure what gane was doing, he stepped into the sweep, it's like he helped Ngannou flip him..

yeah it looked like he tried to just stand up out of the position. Very quick reaction by Francis. For sure not high level shit, but I've seen some BAD grappling in MMA. Way worse than this

How would grappling a ‘heavyweight’ and being successful at it make you more knowledgeable about BJJ? Why wouldn’t grappling make you knowledgeable?

FYI - I have grappled heavyweights and been successful, also crushed many many times.

I never questioned their knowledge, simply saying these men are HUGE, most people on here have never had much success grappling someone that size and strength so why so much criticism? It's a different game at that weight as far as activity is concerned and it seemed like most were just commenting on face value instead of anything else. Never questioned their knowledge, only their experience of success at this weight. It was a generalization though, not really a comment I meant to have this long of a convo over tbh

Yeah we pretty much have the big boys roll with the big boys. (Sucks for me because I am a smaller big boy compared to the BIG LADS)

Some people don't mind and they don't separate people. Just during partner picks some people will avoid the bigger grapplers purposely.

That 100% wasn’t a scissor sweep. But he did do a good job of feeling Ganes base and following him up when he dove for the foot lock
