That was my least favourite level in a From Software game until Shadow of the Erdtree came out. I don't remember the name of the area but its at the top right on the map where those things freeze you in place from really far. Super annoying.

Yeah they would freeze me from so far away. I had to sneak along the edges to get close and still ended up getting hit but was far enough to fight my way to the end. I mostly liked the DLC but that part was not fun.

In fairness, AC:BF is essentially a stealth game. Worse are the "tailing" missions, where you have to follow some dudes yacking about whatever, and have to basically follow a specific path in order to not get spotted. Maybe that's what you're talking about though. You get spotted and it's back to climbing and waiting. Those missions are so infuriating.

Agree with the sentiment, though. Especially in a non-stealth game, where you've been running around killing everything that moves, only to have a stealth mission thrown at you, where getting spotted by one guard ends the universe.

FIrst things that came to my mind:

The Frenzied Flame platforming section in Elden Ring. My favorite ending is locked behind the worst optional area possible.

Any NES Castlevania section with twisting staircases and medusa heads flying at your fat face.

Bloodborne Old Hunters DLC: Research Hall. Just fuck off. The entire area is garbage and leads to the worst boss of the DLC.

Can't forget any section in a Double Dragon game where they force you to jump kick onto the next platform and then they disappear from under you right onto spikes. Fun stuff.

The fucking RC plane missions. I'm pretty sure when SA came out, I didn't complete the game since I couldn't fly those fuckers. Eventually got around to it.

When the remaster came out, it didn't take me nearly as long, but still a pain in the ass.

"Launch the Red Baron!" became a phrase we would say when trying to do something that was hard, or a pain in the ass. Did you try to "launch the red baron!"?

Most recent would easily be Spiderman MJ stealth, momentum hit a screeching halt with those, same with Days Gone, not a fan of the follow someone around mission for 10 mins after I just had a crazy shootout with 100s of creatures. I get letting a game breathe but just not a fan.

GTA had some frustrating filler, plane, rc other randomness. All we needed was for you to follow the damn train CJ!

Absolum is a 9.5/10! 0.5 pts off for the stupid game mechanic the true final boss possesses. If the game wasn’t so phenomenal I would have removed 2pts..

One of the main reasons why I have no desire to play the sequel is because they brought those back... Even after the huge negative feedback regarding the MJ missions in the first game.

No thank you. Maybe if they release a 4K/120FPS version for the PS6 and $20.

Not really into story mode and single player type games.
The GTA ones were good and so was Metal Gear, but now, no.

More of an online type of guy.
