So I'm replaying Rockstar's Bully and it's still a lot of fun... but then there's Consumo. Those who haven't played, it's a mini-game set up like a classic 80s arcade game and it is brilliant. But it is a fucking pain. Difficult, time-consuming, and worst of all, you need to do well on it to continue the main story. I didn't even remember this so I don't know if I was traumatized and blocked it out or parallel universe or what.

A lot of great games have that one part that's a bitch (Ocarina of Time's Water Temple) or has something janky with it (anything driving related in Halo) or a cringe part of the story (Dragon Age: Veilguard.)

What's your biggest "Aw shit, here we go again," in gaming?

I hate any sort of platforming section in Soulslike games. Lies of P Cathedral section was annoying as fuck each time I played through it. The game was just not designed for it and I often fell off.

Besides crappy platforming sections I'd say another thing I hate our padded out areas that are created just to artificially lengthen the game and serve no other purpose. The Temple of the Ancients section in Final Fantasy Rebirth just went on too fucking long constantly switching back and forth between parties. Each time I thought it was finally over but nope..... I been loving the remake games but the replayability factor takes a major hit because of these areas.

RDR2 - Island segment
MGSV - Frogmen battle
GTA4 - Snow Storm
Arkham Knight - Stealth Tank fight/Arkham Knight vehicle battle
Dark Souls 3 - Pretty much everything before the Abyss Watchers
Uncharted 2 - Tutorial mission
FFVII - Temple of The Ancients
FFX - Dumb, incomprehensible maze section
Dead Space - Meteor shooting mini-game

Bioshock - the last 10-15% of the game after the big reveal
Halo - library
Metroid remake - added part after the "end" where you don't have your suit
RE3 - water puzzle
Zelda 64 - water temple

I loved the original God of War when it came out but hated the Hades part because it was clearly rushed and needed polish.

RDR1 farm life (or abigail in RDR1 and RDR2)
MGS2 naked raiden
MGS3 eva rescue
BG3 ending of last chapter
GTA VC remote helicopter mission

RE4... controlling Ashley and her useless ballistics
Very true.

I don’t hate Ashley. When you are playing as Leon, of course. For the most part, she stays ducked up and out of the way. Just those stealth sections and such. Come on, man…

The fucking RC plane missions. I'm pretty sure when SA came out, I didn't complete the game since I couldn't fly those fuckers. Eventually got around to it.

When the remaster came out, it didn't take me nearly as long, but still a pain in the ass.

That driving section in the 1st gears of war campaign when the old guy yells, "krill!! One of you idiots get on the uv turret"

Feels like you need some luck to beat that part on co-op.

I'd say most old school first person shooters and even some modern day boomer shooters where you wind up having to comb through the level you just emptied out trying to find the one door/keycard/button etc that you missed so you can move forward

I thought you said you could shoot, Carl!!

Yeah I was playing DOOM 64 and there was this one level where theres a sewer with these barriers. The sewer hurts when you walk in it, but the barriers, i assume you gotta find some way to get them to open but i combed the level for what seemed like an Hour and found nothing ( the levels in this game are quite big)

Eventually you just walk up to the barrier and just open it like its any other door. Bro that pissed me off so much.
