Grand Moff Tarkin Out Ranks Vader?

I just read through this whole thread and grew a neckbeard in like 6 minutes.

This doesn't make sense considering Star Wars (both sets) were around before neck beards were popular.

It's not an apple product. I don't see many hipsters into Star Wars. They like coffee and craft beers.

Explain to me how he's better than YODA

Who figured out about the Sith when Yoda and the others were in denial? Jinn.

Who found the chosen one? Jinn.

When Obi gets struck down and talks about becoming more powerful than ever to Vader...how did know? Cause Jinn accomplished immortality.

I didn't say he was better, I said Yoda wasn't on his level on certain things.

Hipsters have nothing to do with neckbeards, dude.

Neckbeards have always been the domain of the socially mal-adjusted. The fat kid in track pants and a winter coat year round. The kid who always smelled, because body hygiene is just not an urgent consideration.

Neck beards are created by people so inept at personal manicuring they take the act of semi-regular shaving to be concerned only with their face - neglecting to shave under their chins and jaw lines. The forgotten sub-face follicles begin to accumulate growth, eventually forming a wispy matt known as a "neck beard." gradually the term's meaning was expanded to include the person possessing one.

A neckbeard is an accidental, unintended consequence of not paying attention to social mores. The hipster beard is the exact opposite of this, as hipsters grow beards to intentionally broadcast a tightly controlled image of themselves to others.

I think Maul was arguably the coolest thing about the new movies, and I loved every second he was on screen.

And single-handedly fighting two Jedi and killing a master doesn't seem like a whiff to me.

Not to mention his story didn't end there.

darth mauls a can. palp nvr wanted him

Calling Maul a can because he lost to Palpatine is like calling some a can because they got KTFO by Prime Fedor. My boy Sidious was the greatest of all the Sith.:icon_twis

It's true he didn't regard Maul as his successor. But Sidious planned to achieve immortality anyway, so even Vader was just another pawn to be used and discarded.

Darth Sidious: P4P GOAT.

has obi wan even killed any1? he couldnt kill maul or vader

.....and he could have easily killed Vader, but chose not to. Never understood why he never killed Anakin/ Vader in RotS.

Was it he assumed he would die, and he wanted him to suffer?

Also never understood why Obi-Wan and Yoda just went off into hiding either. Did they accept that the Emperor was too powerful for them to take down?

Yoda, Annakin and Obi-Wan still couldn't stop him from escaping.

A clear Yoda/Jedi failure.

Didn't the villains escape Jedi pretty much at will in the series?

Seems like the only one they actually caught was the mercenary, every other one that run away, got away.

Yeah it is odd isn't it. You'd think after he fucked him up six ways to Sunday with that high ground shit that he would just finish him off to put him out of his misery rather than just leave him a badly damaged mess and leave him to die.

I'm certain the assumption on Obi's part was that Anakin was done for (it wasn't like he was sparing him) but if that's true then why didn't he just finish the job quickly.

As for going into hiding- yeah- I think they knew they missed their chance. Yoda couldn't take Palps out and he only had a narrow window to do so. The Emperor had the means to snuff out all the Jedi and Obi Wan and Yoda didn't really have any recourse at that point other than to go underground and look for their opportunity when it presented itself in the form of Luke.

Which raises the question why did they wait until Luke was grown up to recruit him? In fact it was only by chance that Obi-Wan met Luke.

I thought at the end of RotS Obi takes Luke to Anakin's relatives on Tatoine and stays there while Organa takes Leia to Alderaan as his adopted daughter.

Yeah, but Obi and Luke don't meet until Luke is already grown up (at least 16-17). And even then, it is only because of R2-D2.

You would have thought Obi would have wanted to train Luke from a young age....not to mention Obi seemingly have forgotten about Leia.

Yeah I suppose that is a good point. Lucas probably didn't think every little detail before the the films were made. Luke was kind of a Mary Sue when it comes to his jedi powers, because why wouldn't Vader a life long Jedi/Sith just crush Luke when it came to them fighting since he would have trained with several Jedi masters.
