Grand Moff Tarkin Out Ranks Vader?

Yeah I guess the 20+ years of investment into him was worth killing a master who wasn't even known for his lightsaber prowess..

And he did kill a master but than instantly loses to a padawan..

That investment was a complete waste. maul sucked.

Imagine what an adult Kenobi would do to him.. Or Kit Fisto, Windu, Tiin, Mundi, Ti. Maul was nothing special.

Besides his awesome Sith Infiltrator ship.

So your problem is that an apprentice lost to a padawan after killing a master?

Seems unreasonable.

Well considering there are tens of thousands of Jedi and only 1 sith apprentice you really believe they got their moneys worth with Maul.

And if u wann play devils advocate how good could Jinnhave been if his padawa is more powerful than he is...

Maul wasn't worth the time or effort...

Just think how powerful Dooku is that he battles Kenobi, Anakin and Yoda to a stand still and yet a padawan defeats Maul...

Seems crazy to me

Peter Cushing had a great presence in all his movies.
He would be a very busy actor today.

Cushing was awesome.

He was pretty busy in his day, 134 acting credits. 8 in 1974. The man was an acting machine.

Palps got Zab Judah'd lmao

Palps was Werdum and Mace was Fedor.
Palps had a plan mang.
Keep Mace busy and wait for Anakin to shittily act the scene murking Mace.
Then he knew Anakin was his bitch.

Dude was a Sith Lord, right under the nose of that overated can, Mace and that green midget Yoda and they never knew Palps was creeping the whole time. A dude with that kind of game has a plan.

Finally, Vader's iconic mask is partly based on WWII-era German helmetse

It was originally based on Samurai helmets/ masks.
The original concept was to have Vader's helmet/mask as his pilot/battle gear, not his life support system.

I think it would have been amazing if they explored that in the prequels and had Anakin deliberately adopt the whole getup after his injuries he sustained fighting Kenobi -- kind of like Dr Doom, but with real injuries, too.

Until coming across this post, I hadn't considered that Cecil People's might be a Star Wars fan.

Noted.

Dooku was a Jedi master before becoming a Sith apprentice.

And there's a hell of a lot more to being Sith or Jedi than how good you are in a fight.

Looks at AV... somebody's watching the Wire again.

I'm on a slow rotation, I was Bunny for a very long time, before him I'd been several others. I love Sobotka, I've been him before. One of my favorite characters in a show with many great ones.

Jinn was a master as well.

Regardless, that doesn't change the fact that it seems like Maul was kind of a bust. All those many years training him and on his "big showing" he wiffs.

Yeah but Maul had to face "Kenobi with that look in his eyes" after he killed Qui Gon. Padawan or not, that's a tough task.

And you're right, Dooku was more impressive, but he was also a self-important asshole who got absolutely murked by Anakin in the rematch.

and in regards to others, Cushing was very gaunt and skinny, almost emaciated in Star Wars.

He gave off an aura of death and darkness. The same aura the Empire gave off.

Great casting.

I think Maul was arguably the coolest thing about the new movies, and I loved every second he was on screen.

And single-handedly fighting two Jedi and killing a master doesn't seem like a whiff to me.

Not to mention his story didn't end there.

Windu was a badass, but I don't see any real way of reading that scene other than Palps playing possum (pulling a Werdum troll job as you indicate). The big shit-eating grin on his face the moment Anakin cuts off Windu's hand followed by the surge of sith lightning is indication enough to me that the "weak, I'm too weak" shit was just him pulling Anakin's strings, basically creating a situation which would force Anakin's hand, make him choose the Dark Side.

Dooku was also a full blown Jedi master before becoming a Sith apprentice.

As a Jedi Knight, he took Qui-Gon Jinn as his first Padawan, and later trained Komari Vosa. Dooku was a respected instructor in the Jedi Temple and one of the most renowned swordsmen in the galaxy, on par only with Masters Yoda and Mace Windu.

Yup 100%

I also read that George Lucas was just going to have windu be killed in some anti climatic fashion but Jackson complained and was adimant on how he died.

Yeah I remember reading once that when Jackson signed on, his demands were a.) a purple lightsaber and b.) an epic death scene.

And it really was pretty epic. Definitely a pivotal scene in that movie and probably one of the best scenes in the prequels overall, in my opinion.

Well sure his look is awesome if youre in the audience. But if youre Palpatine you might be disappointed...

You don't train a sith apprentice to get killed on his first outing. Especially not after 20+ years of training. How can you even debate this any longer.
