Yeah TS, you should go the D1 Football route because of this:
-More opportunities to master your giant ass frame in an explosive sport
-Free education if you got the skills--this will help you if pro football or MMA don't pan out for any reason
-With the money you make even sitting on the bench on a pro team, you could set yourself up for an even greater start in MMA: You can have a modest house and enough money to eat more quality horse meat and train with the best from the start (right now you would barely scrape by)
-You can still train MMA on the side--at least technique-wise along with football, so you can start getting familiar with it without too much risk.
I wish you the best man! If you play it smart, you can really have a future in MMA, but you gotta get a good start first (take care of the financials/education, then try MMA seriously).
