Gorilla versus Lion versus Bear?

Re-read the post, it was a hypothetical about a king Kong type ape. No living land animal today could fuck with an animal that size.

I say to you the square-cube law wouldn't allow for that animal to exist.

:)

Except that siberian brown bears kill adult tigers for food, and I wouldn't want to know what a 2000 Lb male polar bear gonna do to the poor cat.
You have no proof of that with same weight animals. And even if it's true, neither can a gorilla.

Blunt force for an offensive weapon sucks unless you're a mantis shrimp or a giant sperm whale. And gorillas don't even punch.

Some people think a gorilla = hella stronk mma fighter thanks to King Kong movies.

A gorilla would certainly pound the shit out of any lion, i don't care what type of big cat were talking about.

Yea you're right, they won't throw a solid 1-2, but what they will do is grab a lion by its tail and yank it off, or by the limbs and try to rip it from its torso. Even if the gorilla didn't want to rip it to pieces, it could hold down a big cat and gnaw the shit out of its neck or any vital points of its body.

Silver back gorillas are hugely underestimated here

The problem with bears is they are pussies. There's videos on YouTube of them getting chased off by smaller animals like wolves and wolverines. They have the physical tools, just not the heart. Bears are the Overeems of the animal kingdom.

They aren't 'pussies'. That concept doesnt apply to animals. They are not pure carnivores. They dont have to eat meat to survive. So if getting that meat means a fight that may injure them, they are willing to pass it up.

Haven't been following the thread, just read the last few pages and want to throw out my random insights:

Tiger>Lion. Not even a contest. A lion wants no part of an encounter with a fully grown tiger.

Tiger>Gorilla/Chimp. A chimp is doing literally nothing to a tiger.A gorilla wants to part of a tiger. If it had to fight, it dies. The tiger may die later from internal injuries, but the gorilla dies first.

Tiger vs bear is the really interesting one...I lean bear if its a really big bear. It will be cut the fuck up regardless though.

It's ironic because the baboon above was probably shot with the very same gun that his corpse is posing with...

Another victim of King Kong movies...

Maybe in your fantasy where they have superhero strength.

There have never been such a case of a gorilla ripping limbs off a similar sized animal.

The much smaller leopard eats gorillas. Not even silver backs are safe.

The leopard got him from the front and straight rekt him.

Leopards are like half the size of lions.

Yeah, but the gorilla was attacked probably while he was sleeping in his nest. If a leopard first strike was around the jugular on an asleep gorilla, of course the gorilla will probably die.

I think it's a different story if the gorilla was aware of the attack.

People used to organize bear vs lion fights 50-100+ years ago, back when it wasn't illegal. There's a ton of historical data on it. The lion would win every time, it's not even close.

You people are way over estimating bears. Bears walk around eating leaves, fish and small prey, weight isn't enough, they're not built for combat either in structure or in temperament. Lions wrestle huge ass buffalos to the ground and choke them out like it's nothing. Male lions don't participate in the hunt because their mane gives them away, they're ridiculously strong. Even pumas, who interact with bears in the wild, can easily kill them. Gorilla is a joke, it has no answer for the lion's huge ass fangs.

Maybe if they were the same size.

I cannot see a lion dealing with this kind of power:

I cannot see a lion dealing with this kind of power:

the main thing is that when the bear bites and tries to maul it on top, the lion is going to dig in its front paws and then absolutely shred its stomach apart with its rear claws. Ever had a cat do that to you? It fucking hurts with a 10lb housecat thats not even really trying to kill, imagine a lion or tiger. And the bear better hope to god it doesnt get caught in the face/eyes with those claws

Sounds like a pussy to me

The largest [and by default most powerful] predator of all time still exists, and it hunts the only other living animal on this list.

Lmfao I can't believe you remember this piece of shit show.

Lol "piece of shit?" It has the best writing of any Transformers series to this day. Don't be fooled by the dated graphics (which were cutting-edge back in 1996).

I'm not saying a leopard couldn't kill a gorilla but Puh lease...the article you just posted, you can find bunch of these" first hand witness accounts" all throughout history, doesn't mean damn thing.

I've found same articles of how these British hunters witnessed leopards killing tigers all the time in India...guess what no recorded findings in modern times. In fact here's a video proving otherwise

And since we're on the subject, I've read some of these witness accounts, of lions absolutely destroying grizzly bears, and in the same fucking articles, it'll reference the bear mauling the lion? Wtf? Can any of these idiots from the 19th century get a story straight, which is it? The article in question pertains to pernell the circus lion look it up
