GOP Senator questions a Trump US District Judge nominee at confirmation hearing...

being stupid and incompetent isnt a deal breaker, its a requirement.

He doesn't know what a fucking MOTION IN LIMINE is??

Are you fucking serious? Any first-year law student knows that.

them fancy city boys again with their big words <Manning1>

lol that was painful to watch
clearly this dude is winging it and doesnt know jack shit

would be interesting to see how he managed to finish law school with such abysmal knowledge

and fucking lol at the last questions:

"any of you blog? - no ? - any of you ever blogged in support of the ku klux klan?"

Jesus.

Glad I paid $10 to the federalist society once. I guess that means I'm ready to become a judge.

Not sure what Trump is trying to accomplish by nominating this guy

Are you telling me there isn't equally as conservative lawyers who could have answered all these questions with ease that wouldn't want this judgeship? It's a question of friggin competence.

As a non Lawyer I have to ask. Was Kennedy's line of questioning normal? Was he lobbing him softball and he was whiffing?

So soft that he was clowning him.

As for the KKK blogger question - it was because of this guy -

Brett Talley, the Alabama lawyer Donald Trump has nominated to be a federal district judge, is a 36-year-old ghosthunter who has never tried a case and who failed to disclose to the Senate that he is married to the chief of staff to the White House counsel. He also seems to have written 16,381 posts—more than 3½ per day—on the University of Alabama fan message board TideFans.com. As BuzzFeed has reported, a user who is almost certainly Talley posted for years under the handle BamainBoston. (BuzzFeed managed to identify him because BamainBoston wrote a message headlined “Washington Post Did A Feature On Me,” linking to a 2014 Ben Terris profile of Talley. BuzzFeed reported that a “Justice Department spokesman declined to comment on Talley's behalf.”)

A search of TideFans.com reveals that BamainBoston often opined on controversial issues, including race, abortion, perceived federal overreach, and Southern heritage. In one post from February 2011, he defended the honor of the early Ku Klux Klan.

Talley cleared Judiciary Committee on a party line vote, but since then ran into trouble getting GOP votes on the floor after he started getting publicity for his undisclosed marriage to WH high ranking legal staffer. I believe only in the last day or so his nomination was pulled before it would be voted down.

He didn't disclose his message board posting because because he figured it was under a handle and couldn't be traced to him. But he slipped that one time to brag about the WaPo feature back in 2014 when he probably never imagined it would matter.

That was sad to see TBH.

I guess no empire gets to rule forever.

Cringeworthy. Like others here, don't know enough to say if he should have done better with the later stuff.

Hahahahaahah
That’s AWSOME

I also figured those were basic questions, as it makes sense to start easy and only go hard if the easy ones get answered.
