Big Nog was the #1 fighter in the entire sport like 6 years prior to him joining the UFC. If you have any clue about MMA at all then you understand in those 6 years he fought the best HWs on the planet and was in many many wars. He wasn’t even remotely close to his prime when he entered the UFC.

Aleks and Sergei didn't live up to their long term potential(although Stipe doesn't have the sub game of Monson) but the fighters were saw late in Pride would IMHO be a serious threat to Stipe as could someone like Semmy.

Your opinion is equally as worthless to me. Cain is a 10x better fighter than Coleman ever was. That's why Nog was helpless against him after looking good against Randy. Cain murders ANY version of Nog.
 
Another big giveaway should surely be that Stipe/DC themselves aren't exactly spring chickens are they? the same with Jon Jones, if the sport is constantly evolving as UFC hype tells us then why haven't they been challenged more by newer names?

Pride FC HW division was more exciting for sure. Big Nog Fedor Sergei Cro Cop Werdum Aleks Josh Barnett

Werdum was 1 dimensional and young but the rest were faster and stronger in Pride VS their UFC days. Whether it's wear and tear... injuries or no drug testing in Japan..regardless they looked sharper faster and stronger.

Fedor started showing signs of fading over a decade ago. Big Nog already was a bit slow and prodding in UFC debut.

Remember Nog was an anomaly back in 2002...a top BJJ guy with goodstand up.
 
Prime Fedor is the best MMA HW of our time and prime Mirko is still the most dangerous MMA fighter.

Cain is clearly a better fighter than Coleman but Nog by that stage in his career was clearly far easier to hit, I mean look at the way Mir dropped him repeatidly with the same simple combo, do you really think that ws higher level striking than say Sergei(who supposidly had a shot at Olympic boxing) in 2004?

UFC Nog was clearly on the way down and depending on toughness to do as well as he did plus reworking his game a little more of a pressure brawler(against worse strikers with weaker chins than Pride) to make up for his declined speed/ability plus visual impairment.

You actually watch Cain/Nog though and one thing you do is Nog landed on Cain very easily before being KOed, Cain's a vastly more dangerous striker than Coleman but defencively he's not top level. He'd have been a big name in Pride but I suspect he'd have lost a few as well fighting better strikers without JDS's weakness to pressure.

Fighters do not change over time. That's a proven fact.

His run in the UFC was not very good overall. CC everybody and I mean everybody said he was coming to dominate. Not even close. He mostly got whooped..

That's also a gold belt. Randy was the champ during that time sitting on the sideline in an attempt to fight Fedor. And when Big Nog and Randy fought each other soon after, Big Nog whooped Randy, proving that Big Nog wasn't just interim champ during that time. He was the real champ. So a past his prime Big Nog still managed to be UFC HW champ. Then Werdum came around and whooped Cain, same Werdum prime Nog beat in PRIDE.
