Its amazing really someone can watch MMA for so long but know absolutely nothing about it.

Its not just Fedor, Nog and Crocop I'd say, someone like Sergei for example I can see beating todays Stipe, maybe Aleks as well.

This fight really showed how weak the HW division is. I see that now Stipe is the GOAT around here- whoever wins automatically becomes the GOAT- until, of course, they lose. Comier was alleged by just about everyone around here to be the best at HW after one win.

B-b-but MMA evolving - HW was simply ahead of it's time. Compare the top HWs of the mid 2000s to current year. Between UFC and PRIDE you had Fedor, Nogueira, CC, Aleks, Sergei, Barnett, Arlovski, Mir, Sylvia, Randy, Rodriguez, Rizzo, Coleman, Randleman etc. Heavyweight historically being weak is a myth.

I mean seriously, you watch Nog's UFC career and think that is a fighter in his prime years, to me that either signals profound ignorance or dishonesty, either way it makes your opinion on MMA in general next to worthless for me.

Aleks and Sergei didn't live up to their long term potential(Sergei grappled with a Werdum and Nog at his best) but the fighters were saw late in Pride would IMHO be a serious threat to Stipe as could someone like Semmy.

Its a common myth that Sergei got caught showboating, he didn't, he got hurt, mocked aleks and then got caught again worse and finished.
