Hostel the first third was like a stoner comedy. My buddies and I were laughing so much. We still always say of course my horse to each other lol. Then our expressions changes to For the rest of the film

Maybe more of a change of perspective,but....Fargo. Frances McDormand won an Oscar for Best Leading Actress, but didn't even appear in the film until halfway through. The entire first is told through the lens of William Macy. The second half is about Frances solving the crime.

Because both Young Vito and Mike's stories are both the same genre and they're expertly interwoven as a flashback vs "present"

It's a slight twist on the EXACT premise I asked for but close enough

AND

It made me think of Memento.

you have

A) the color version moving forward in time
B) the black and white version moving backwards
