Going to the Philippines (Cebu) for work, any tips?

In a few months my work is flying me out to the Philippines (Cebu specifically) for a little over a month to help with newhire training for some bpo support agents. Im pretty stoked aside from the fact that I'll be working at night (U.S. support hours), but I'll have a lot of downtime and days off.

Food and hotel are paid for and I'll have a driver as well, I dont have exact specifics but based on the location of the company we're contracting it will be near IT park close to the Ayala mall. Curious if anyone has been and has any recommendations on stuff to do/ stuff to avoid/ stuff to bring.

So that's just a filipina thing? I dated one in my late 20's and I had to sleep on my stomach or I'd get "woken up" It was cool at first but it got to a point that I just wanted to sleep, lol.

necklace water proof phone holder for water play
travel light, 3-4 shorts, 3-4 undies, 4-5 thin shirts, 1 work pant or buy the cloths there, it's going to be incredibly hot and humid.
get the Grab app, input your credit/debit, you can probably buy food and get to places quicker than a car, or when you dont have a car available.
you still gotta work for the ladies, however it should be considerably less work, and not many fat people, so your options are good.
culture shock galore, don't argue with it, not your country, accept and move on.

Based off the travel budget and what the nicer hotels cost that shouldn't be an issue. I'll be there for 34 days so I'm assuming I'll have to wash clothes/have them washed but that's about it. I've read about the humidity but I lived on the east coast and been to the Florida keys and Hawaii so have an idea of what to expect.

I've read about that grab app because apparently scamming foreigners with inflated cab fares seems to be a common thing, but we'll have a driver for most trips we take.

I'm going with 0 specific expectations but having been single for a year and doing nothing but working out/enjoying life when they asked if anyone wanted to go I volunteered and got selected.

laundry service cost is probably going to be a ripoff, a maid handwashing will probably cost less although might not be possible.

your driver..... can be hit and miss as opposed to grab. For instance, you go multiple people and part ways, you go chill at the beach, dude is literally going to sit around and wait for you, well at least that's how all of my private drivers have been. Grab is not only good for picking you up efficiently anywhere, it's also good for food delivery, maybe even goods you buy, not sure exactly if the filipines is up to that yet.

as soon as you can get over the culture shock, you'll enjoy it immensely. oh right, bring some pepto bismo tablets, they are clean and discrete. Enable wifi calling on your phone BEFORE you leave, right now even. This will ensure you are able to send and receive sms when overseas in case you need to authenticate with the bank. If you deal cash, then you're good with the conversions, if you dont, then be prepared to have your banks international number on hand, it can be incredibly time consuming if payment systems go sideways. learn how to use your phone's wallet if you dont know how to already, some prep work goes a long way.

you can probably get away with packing really light and buying on location as needed, it's likely going to be less expensive and the styling will be more in line with the locals.
