If this gets a UK release, I'll definitely go to see it.

Oh good, a newish Godzilla movie. I'll have to ask my Japanese dental hygienist if she has seen the latest Godzilla film. I have a funny feeling in todays world she could find that upsetting, so since she is the one with the sharp objects, maybe not.

Why does Shin Godzilla look like a retarded weasel? LOL Ive never seen the Japanese version of godzilla and its pretty bad. People spoke so highly of this film. This new film looks like their first serious attempt at a hollywood style godzilla movie.
Because original godzilla is based on an otter?

Just read that this came in #1 again in Japan, in week 2, despite The Marvels opening there this weekend. It's also sporting a 100% rating on RT. Pretty stoked, plan on seeing it opening weekend. Presume that it's North American run will be 2 weekends max, and probably only if it does better than expected the first week.

If you plan on seeing this, don't wait around, buds.

Shin Godzilla was the serious movie and the monster (Godzilla) was a metaphor for Fukishima, a mindless disaster that keeps evolving / increasing in scope with everything they throw at it. His appearance was off-putting to me, too, but the movie was so damn smart and had so much to say that it sucked me in. It is not a monster movie, it's a disaster movie with a lumbering metaphor and it's so fucking good.

If you want a monster movie, yeah, pretty much any other Godzilla will deliver that.

I don't buy it's that good. Probably the same situation as Parasyte, Everything everywhere all at once type deal

I think people get confused about what a really high rotten tomatoes score means.

It doesn't mean that the film is a certified 10/10 oscar winner it just means that the critics are all giving a positive 6+/10 review so everyone could agree the film is 7/10 and it could be 100% fresh if all the reviews are positive.

Example this horror film When Evil Lurks is 99% on Rotten Tomatoes, on IMDB after 13,000 vote its on 7/10.
