I know it's just me but I Love the goofy looking old godzilla style.

Though the Japanese installations have been hit or miss and tonally all over the place, the true gems in the IP have all been Japanese releases - and the most recent Shin was excellent. I'll see this in theatres if I can - the first movie since pre-covid.

I'll second Shin being a fantastic film. The ending fight in the 2014 film still one of my favorite endings to it. Pure bad ass, terrible movie though.

In general, I think that is the only one of the American Godzilla movies I thought was any good. The rest of them are basically generic summer blockbusters reskinned with Godzilla in them. I enjoyed the 2014 movie overall. Yeah, I think the final fight was good.

Shin was weird. Then terrifying. Then kind of... Campy? Tonally all over the place, but after it draws you in with the kind of awkward, dumpy Godzilla that just walks along it really shocks you with the breath weapon scene. I think the movie went downhill from there, but it still had a good finish.
